Another idea : the poem ends on the exclamation “my son” which is what reveals to the reader that the poem is a dramatic monologue where a father is speaking to his son. The steady rhythm of the poem and it’s flaring structure also builds up to the final exclamation and makes the poem appear emotive, down-to-earth and motivational.
