Ena Shinonome stood on the rooftop, waiting for her friend. Student A approached, asking, “Are you close with Akiyama?”
“Well,“ Ena felt uneasy with the question, “We've known each other for quite a while now.”
Student A’s smile widens, “Wait, don't tell me... you're a guy too?”
Ena’s voice tinged with confusion, “What... do you mean by that?”
Student A chuckling awkwardly to ease the tension. “Ah, just kidding! No need to take it too seriously!”
Ena listened as whispers from them, fill the air. She picks up their conversation, and her heart sinks. “But she said they've known each other for a long time...” one mutters; another adds, “It's not like he tries to hide it either.”
Ena’s heart dropped.
This was the secret.. Mizuki wanted to tell her.
Suddenly, time seemed to stand still as the rooftop door opens behind her. She turns, her eyes wide, to face: Mizuki Akiyama.
Everything felt so wrong.
Ena’s heart pounded in her chest as she rushed down the stairs, chasing after Mizuki whom sprinted off. Every legs and lungs ached in pain, but it didn’t matter. The only thing that mattered was to catch up to Mizuki.
And yet through the sobs and heartbreak, Mizuki ran off before Ena could get a word in.
Ena’s legs gave up on her, crumbling on the floor of the empty corridor. She never felt more helpless and useless.
She couldn’t do anything right.
She desperately wanted to chase after Mizuki, offer comfort, assure them that nothing would change, that they would still be the same to her.
…Aha, life was cruel.
If it weren’t for those three on the rooftop.

Ena wandered through the school, her eyes red and puffy from crying. She looked for any sign of Mizuki, yet found nothing. Until she came across Student A.
Ena approached the other student, she mocked, “Oh, what a nice joke it was, wasn't it?”
“I assumed Akiyama would have told you, given that you’re friends,” Student A said with a nonchalant tone, “But I suppose you’re not as close as I thought.”
Ena clenched her teeth as her resentment and anger fueled more. He stood calmly, his smug expression and nonchalant attitude.
Within minutes, tensions escalated with hostile words said. Ena, unable to contain her frustration further, turned away with a bitter scowl. She knew that if she stayed any longer, the confrontation would escalate…

Days later, Ena’s search for Mizuki led her back to Student A. She confronted him once again. The encounter escalated quickly, and Ena ended up in a fight. However, her brother, Akito Shinonome pulled her away.
Toya Aoyagi’s voice came through the phone, a mix of urgency and concern. “Akito,” he said, “Your sister is in a fight.”
At first, Akito was in denial, hoping it was merely a prank or a misunderstanding. But deep down, he knew Toya wouldn’t play such a cruel joke. His heart raced and without hesitation, he ran, running faster than ever before, faster than he used to run when playing soccer in his childhood.
Akito panted heavily, straining to hold his sister back. His eyes darted towards Ena’s face, immediately noticing the bruises on her face. Her usual neat brown hair was a mess, flying everywhere. Even her hands were now bruised and red.
As Akito looked back at the male, he instantly noticed the bleeding, the broken glasses, and the way the boy clutched his arm. Akito’s brow furrowed, his mind taking the sight before him, trying to piece together the full story.
Ena’s shout was filled with anger and resentment, “It’s your fault! If you had kept your mouth shut, none of this would have happened!”
With sarcasm and mockery, he tolied, “Oh, ‘I’m so sorry for hurting lil o’ Akiyama’s feelings.’ Shall Akiyama ever forgive me and come back?"
Upon hearing ‘Akiyama,’ Akito quickly understood the reason behind Ena’s anger. His grip on her hand tightened, as he urged her, “Ena, let's go, before dad finds out.”
Ena could feel her entire body aching from the bruises and scrapes she had gotten. “Fine,” She clenched her teeth, her chest heaving with ragged breaths as she followed her brother.
