I would also add the pit crew. If there rating is low then they would be slow and won't be consistent. For more, I would add a person or more for the reliability of the car.

F1 Manager tried this, different people have different ratings and you can buy anyone and add them to your team, you can get any drivers, PU, race engineers, for your team. But there is no lot boxes and you aren't the one driving, but still, pretty similar.

You shouldn’t encourage EA on doing that because now the game is perfectly balanced and (mostly) decided by skill. If EA brings in Ultimate Team there will be packs. And there will be in game purchases. It will ruin the game just like fifa But everyone is gonna keep on playing Ultimate Team still because it is the online game mode that EA actually develops. Career and simple online racing will always stay the same and totally lose its relevance, just as in Fifa

Amazing idea, but I think that icon cards are gonna be so expensive knowing ea wants to earn money. Icon and hero cards are also a good concept. Icon cards for drivers who won championships and hero cards for no championship winners who still are one of the best f1 drivers of all time (91 Webber, 92 Montoya, 90 Massa, 88 Ricciardo). Please make a part 2.

Oh you are serious about it? I am still waiting for the punchline. We don't want pay to win in this game, and I think the teams would look all the same. It's not a good idea. But there should be more tasks/challenges in the game. Maybe something like "Complete 3 round the outside moves after lap one in Multiplayer", or "Pull of an Undercut against 2 cars in a race." These should be for Multiplayer only, and make it more interesting to play online. Some tasks you can do during the races, without having to act very weird. In FUT you sometimes have tasks, where you have to score with a specific player, let's say with a header. And then you just cross all the game long, getting frustrated, because your opponent knows exactly what you are doing and can easily stop you. With tasks like I mentioned, you can still have a race, but you don't make it a weird experience for the other players, because you still race like you would normally do.

The reason you get F1 branded shorts and not "packs" is because with whatever control Codemasters still had when making the game, they decided to not put gambling in the game. Instead you know the conversion rate of pitcoins to real money and can get exactly what you want if you're ready to spend money in the game. The alternative is risking getting filled up by the ugliest shorts while you're trying to get a good card to drop from your "packs" and needlessly spending a ton more money. EA is notorious for ruining game dev companies and encouraging lootbox implementation just so you could have a bit more added to the game is wrong on all levels imaginable. Go check NBA 2K20's trailer and see what 2K are doing with their sports games. Imagine if you're playing the game that you paid full price for and all the little details like different engineer voices for different drivers are already there and you didn't have to go through a few hundred packs and a couple thousand bucks to "get" like half of them despite them being on your harddisk the whole time.

Ultimate Team killed Fifa, but yeah I think EA will kill F1 with such a mode too. But when it would make more sense to buy R&D Parts with coins, like in career or MyTeam Mode. Who needs drivers when you drive yourself? Next thing should be that engine parts wear out, and maybe one teamboss or ingeneur can make them hold longer, the other one let you make faster pit stops and something like that
