This is awesome! Just one thing though fasting is strictly a means of giving up food as a way to get closer to God. Giving up things such as social media or TV is more a sacrifice we give to God which is still awesome, but not quite fasting. ❤️🙌

the praying throughout the day is so true. I always pray before I go to bed and I feel like recently God has been calling me to talk to him and I haven't been doing that. Ill be trying to pray to him more!!

I've been feeling pressured to stop watching secular media, and I'm having a hard time to do so bcz....well i don't see a problem with it. I pray, iread the bible, i listen to gospel songs, and i watch Christian videos everyday. Yet when i watch sth on yt other than Christian vids i feel guilty, even if its just a cooking video or a vlog, just harmless videos. I left secular music, should i also leave this. Im so confused, like how do u do it, do u ever watch anything other than Christian media? You'll really help if u answer😢

Hi Shania! Thanks for your honesty. I also watch and listen to media that isn’t specifically Christian (political or social commentary, psychology podcasts, and entrepreneurial podcasts are among a few.) Generally, I don’t feel convicted about consuming these things unless I start to overindulge. If the content is inherently harmless, like a cooking video, I personally don’t see anything wrong with it. However, the Bible does remind us that if we have doubts about whether we should do something, we are sinning if we go ahead and do it, as we’re not following the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Romans 14:22-23 says, “If you do anything you believe isn’t right, you are sinning.” What might be a conviction for one person may not be for another. Overall, I aim to listen to God’s voice and leading in matters like these. If you choose to forego something out of love for God, that’s wonderful!!! But if you’re doing it out of a sense of duty or obligation, it can start to border on legalism. The question should not be, “Is this good or bad?” The question instead should be, “Am I being obedient to Jesus?” Just ask Him what He thinks-He’ll show you :)
