My ex of 4 years blocked me and it took a week for me to try and call him to even know I was blocked to begin with. I admit it hurts and he is constantly on my mind. But deep down I know that even if he was to contact me after a month that if we got back together the moment he does not get his way...he will pull this shit again and again. It's about power and control... As much as this chapter hurts me and I am listening to break up channels to cope... I know this pain and rejection wont last forever. It's sad to say but I hope that he does eventually try and contact me... Just so I can be the one to not respond ever again taking back my power. Is it childish??? Yup. And if he never reaches out...well then I am already prepared.... Part of me will always love him and miss him. And some days will be better then others.. Tonight I am strong... And I know it will get better.

Update my ex moved on to greener pasture after almost 5 years together. After breaking up 2 months ago. I'm replaced. He did reach out thou this past Sunday. I did not reply. I instantly blocked him. Therefore taking back my power. I was able to read the messages he sent in my block messages....without him knowing I read them. It hurts...but not as much as it did 2 months ago. I am free now. Similar reason, one did not want to respect me, did something very bad, harassed me. Second abused me, gave him too many changes for him to treat me as a princess first and flip and abuse me later, possible narcissist ..even as a friend could not be normal and wanted to control me and get into messing my new relationships. So block is the only way to keep my boundaries and cut all contact with assholes. Normal exes are not blocked, but I am never going back to anyone, been there tried that, did not work....and new is better. Once I block I never unblock. Once the relationship is broken, it is over. Blocking is self protection, to have peace and live happy life without any more drama and bullshit. All of this people thinking it is something else is delusional. And dangerous, giving sick minds hope....but better advice is to give them is to move on.

Me and my ex broke up 3 months ago, he did a hard block on me and his whole personality changed. I did the no contact… he hates me even though I loved him a lot he just became really nasty towards me… his personality changed to “I love you want to be with you forever” to “pretend I’m dead and never ever talk to me again” and he is an avoidant but yeah he was very very harsh to me. I am broken but have accepted it. But yeah sometimes people do come back… but sometimes they don’t it’s just the way things are.

No not always. I didnt even talk text or watch his stories on ig. Nothing. Had perfect last date, he stayed even i was not sure about him oversleep. He went to market bough alot of stuff for cooking and prepared me amazing breakfast, s€x many times etc. Now im blocked after 4days passed:D out of nowhere:D and as i said i wasnt bothering him in any way. If someone blocks you, it's not that yhey don't care or not love you, but from what I've noticed (been blocked between 2-3 months) is that i was too needy, clingy and someother things. She actually pointed out somethings to me that i didn’t even notice i do until she told me. I kept bugging her, leaving messages blah blah blah, then she said that i need to focus on myself (self change), my family and whatever else. I will call you when I call you, and i will check up on you, unknowingly. So.... I'm working on me, she is working on herself, starting a brand new spark and yes... I got ghosted by my gf of 4 years and it was because I complained that we never see each other and she takes forever to respond to my texts. Sounds similar to my story, except he didn’t block me, just took weeks to respond or never read my msgs. Treated me after the break up as though he caught me cheating or something , meanwhile i just wanted more time together as well. I'm 23-years-old and I've been through a handful of breakups and other difficult situations involving men in my life. I actually started seeing a therapist for awhile from about 19 to 21-years-old which was incredibly helpful. I really like the solar system analogy you made. In a way, that same concept is what gave me a healthy perspective when dealing with all relationships, including getting through some rather difficult breakups. This is the same mindset I had adopted when I unintentionally met my ex and began a relationship with him. I genuinely believe this is the first healthy relationship I've ever had in my life. I was working full-time, going to school full-time and raising a new puppy when I met him. We started dating and everything had been great. My friends and family, as well as his, both made comments to me all the time that his world revolved around me... and that scared me because I've been on the opposite side of that situation in the past. Without compromising my own values, I made every effort to make sure we were equal partners in the relationship. We never had any huge fights, only minor discussions that would be quickly resolved at most. Last week he told me he loved me for the first time. Then, two days ago he broke up with me via text out of the blue with absolutely no reason except some vague version of, "it's not you, it's me." I responded with "okay, thanks for letting me know." The only time I've seen/talked to him since then was to pick up my apartment keys. I truly don't know if I would want to get back together with him and I don't know if his reasoning would make a difference if that's how he chooses to handle problems (that apparently I'm unaware of). However, I am honestly very confused. It's like he just flipped a switch. Do you have any advice on how to go forward?

If she is the kind of girl who is more likely to make her ex boyfriend jealous after the break up by posting stuffs then,out the thought of annoyance or that possibility, many guys nowadays, including me..blocks their ex girlfriend. Someone would only want to take such action when he's sure he had seen enough of her & wants no more. Don't go back in a relationship with someone who is capable of easily blocking you if you mess up. If it was meant to be, it will be. Because once you get into that relationship with them again after a fresh start with new adventures, yes they may be nice to you again, but in another 5 months, they might be horrible and mean to you and the cycle will start all over again. I’m an Anxious Preoccupied. I unfriended on social media and blocked her number because i realized it was unhealthy or toxic. I did it for my own mental health because I refuse to put up with her toxic behavior. I love myself more… I feel so much better. She’s a severe dismissive avoidant and she was going to find a way to get me to leave reaffirming her core attachment wounds and beliefs about herself. I don’t feel sorry for her because she’s very unwilling to heal her childhood trauma and decade long abusive relationship. She has a pattern of treating people poorly and loosing people. And even if we ever got back together she’s likely to break up again at different stages of commitment. She doesn’t reciprocate my love or want to make me a priority.

Hey Chris. My Boyfriend broke up with me yesterday because he thought that other boys had touched my hair. Id block and delete them in contacts. If you dont they might think you are hoping they will contact you again and also what if you phoned or texted them by accident. Its rare but it still happens. Also they can use another phone no to contact you so you may have to change your number also and set up a new email address too.

This is someone that I lived with for 14 years. I raised his children with him. Yes we had problems like everybody does now. We live in separate states and work in completely different ends of the US... Our jobs are seasonal and on his way. He stopped by and visited me about 2 months ago after 7 months of separation. Of course there was lots of sex for 3 days and after he went on to this job he blocked me out of nowhere. Now I have them blocked for 3 months and I'm losing my mind...... Hurts more than anything else than has ever happened between us. I want so badly to drive 7 hours to the place. I know he is living in right now with my name on it and go see him but I am terrified of the outcome and what I will find there.

I was in a relationship until I got blocked on monday. That was shocking. Especially in a RELATIONSHIP. This has never ever happened to me before. I did that once. I couldnt make up my mind for a few days. Then when i did i just blocked and deleted him in contacts. I didnt want to be tempted to forgive him for his 2 no shows or let my curosity tempt me to contact him. I had to be strict with myself. This man was manipulative and was just using me to boost his ego now and again. He liked me to respond to his flirtatious flattery but wasnt interested in dating.
