I left Wisconsin many years ago but I have been able to keep up with the racing scene in the Midwest. 1. Cedar Lake is one of the toughest tracks to figure out a setup.2. You are smack dab in the middle of some of the best modify drivers in the Midwest. 3. You are young, unknown and from the South. They will be nice to you but won't give you a inch. You HAVE TO come back next year and the year after and the year after that until you kick there butt. At that point you gain there respect and you will have a bunch of Midwest racing friends for LIFE.

You gotta take in the fact that the modified class with those skinny tires makes the majority of the field competitive and that's by design you're good as gold but don't expect to pass 10 or 15 cars in a heat or a b-main the field is to stout for all that it just happens that you're in the most competitive series out there

Your dad sounds like our dad (Rick Gustin) and he raised a good bunch of drivers Jimmy, Richie, and Ryan Gustin. Keep digging this technology is crazy and everyone is very tight lipped when they find that edge. You gotta have a struggling car to keep your driver sharp. I´m living in Germany, our trashcans at the house are dark grey, brown (recycle) and green (paper), the public trashcans are orange on top, grey on bottom... lol... You didn´t know the track but you raced there against the best in the bussines, a lot of them pro´s. Considering this I think you made a fine job making the show on day one !
