The Japanese voice actress of Firefly, Tomori Kusunoki, also has an illness that makes her very weak and has prevented her from doing many things she would like to do. As someone who absolutely adores tragic characters, Firefly’s story is perhaps my favourite that I’ve seen in a while. She’s just the perfect tragedy. We meet this young and bright girl, full of energy and light. An extremely likeable person for us, the player. We spend an incredible night with her, all the while learning about her sad story in the real world, where it is heavily implied she is really sick and can’t do much. And then we’re brought to that spot overlooking the dream, and the music begins and the photo is taken. That music… absolutely beautiful, and with so much emotion and meaning. It’s like meeting us and that night was the first time she learned to live, and what it was like to be happy. Truly happy and experience it with someone else. And I think we all felt the same thing: we all just wanted to hold her closely and never let go. But then of course, we are separated, and when we finally find her again and hope seems to return, tragedy strikes. Perhaps the best part of her death was just how unsatisfying it was, and this is a good thing. Typically a tragic characters death is stretched out and is made the very last thing to happen in the story line. And when the death happens, there is typically an emotional farewell. But Firefly never had that chance. She’s brutally impaled, and dies instantly. No farewell, and seemingly dying without experiencing true happiness. She found us, and experienced it for the first time, only for that brief joy to be cut down in an instant. And then the music plays again, the same one we heard before. Except this time, it’s noticeably different. It’s somber, and saddening. There’s no words to it, just subtle lullaby in the background of the piano. And that music represents, in my eyes, all that’s left of Firefly. Her memory is now this painful one of loss in our minds, and we can no longer hear her voice, her words. We hear the sound and can recognize it, but the sounds don’t form words, for she is gone and can no longer sing for us. And of course there’s the cellphone. The last happy memory we may have been able to keep, were that picture sent to us. But we’re not even given that much, as the phone vanishes in our hands. It’s just a masterclass in writing, truly a spectacular character.

That thought crossed my mind, too, after I watched the rooftop scene again. All the things she knew about the Factions, and the fact that only ONE Faction lost their ticket and we know who has THAT. How can one simple girl in a medical crib know all this? And it's like Sparkle knew more than she was letting on, with the sheer vehemence she had over the Trailblazer missing the point about Firefly. I also saw the Sam theory, and what you said could still make sense given that and what people were saying about Sam, especially people from other countries who play HSR (that Sam is a SHE in their language, the ones with feminine/masculine words). In Black Swans follower quest it immediatly got said, that no matter how many times you die in the dreamscape, you will always wake up in the hotel room again. Granted she was a stowaway but it should still apply. She is really sick IRL and thats the things yeah.. but I think (HOPE) that in updates we will somehow be able to safe her with how she was after the Watchmakers Legacy (maybe she knew it could help her become stable again)

I knew the story is in good hands when they picked the skilled writer. It's like night and day from Luofu, here I'm so invested and actually care about her. Back in Luofu they just out right snapped Tingyun neck for shock value and I felt nothing. Here the story made sense, there were build up and suspense, Tingyun literally just walk up, camera close up, bye bitxh SNAP ded.

i just notice from a post , if you select no wanna take photo with her she will say "huh why?" and you answer your camera shy and she say "oh... ok" and after all the mission you done after she passed , you will sudden step on a photo on the group you will be like 'what this? ....
