Great video ❤. I was such a perfectionist when I was younger and I see that in other youngsters that I’ve worked with. That awful pressure to pursue things that you’re good at or that have meaningful results and no appreciation for the slow burning things that are purely for yourself. I’m almost fifty and thanks to your videos, I have been keeping an illustrated journal for three weeks now and I can’t tell you how proud I am of it. I’m seeing everything with new eyes, appreciating shadows and angles instead of just rushing by. My younger self would be proud of me I think ❤

This is interesting. I WAS a successful gallery artist and illustrator when I was young in San Francisco. But then I got into the tech field which was much more lucrative. Retired early, am much older now, and would like to start drawing again. (what I'd really tell myself is don't sell that Microsoft stock, but I sold it in 2009. That is my geatest regret).

Great advice and video. When I discovered Sketchbook Skool in 2015 I started drawing again. I even took a class or two, and joined the Skool Yard. I don't know why but since that initial start I have stopped and started a few more times.A few months, a few weeks here and there. At this moment I'm starting again. I'm having a hard time staying consistent. Your's is the one channel I've watched since finding it. You always inspire and motivate me.
