“Fanum Tax” is a term popularized by popular Twitch streamer “AMPFanum” who is part of the collective AMP. the gimmick is that Fanum would notice one of his friends and fellow housemates get some food and he, being a rather large fellow, would take a portion, a “tax” of sorts. the practice was dubbed “Fanum Tax” and it grew in popularity as it continued through the streams, Fanum himself dedicating a mock presidential press conference to announce how much each AMP member would be taxed. the phrase quickly spread to TikTok as clips of fellow AMP members avoiding the tax went viral. the phrase then became popular with kids as they would record themselves taking their friends food and saying “Fanum Tax”. the phrase eventually grew repetitive as kids kept using it. this would cause the phrase to be put into the brain rot category, along with “skibidi toilet”, “sigma”, “gyatt”, “rizz”, and more. this all led to the jingle we all know and love today.
