Thank you for posting part two! While I don't doubt Nicole may have at times acted out inappropriately on her fear and confusion over being a newly single woman I think being battered and cheated on played a bigger part in leaving her marriage than just wanting to spread her wings. But this is what the ghost writer meant when he said this book, which smears and blames Nicole for everything, was OJ Simpson's way of murdering her a second time. Can't wait for part three.

I think O.J. and Nicole had a twisted relationship. She might have been just as sick as he was, like the domestic violence was part of some game. Nicole liked getting O.J. all worked up, and he liked the opportunity to express his rage. My guess is O,J. always felt better after yelling at Nicole and beating her up. Likewise, she enjoyed the attention. So, one day, O.J's at Nicole's house, watching her, when Ron Goldman strolls up the driveway. Nicole knows O.J. is spying on her so she puts on a show. She flirts with Ron, and kisses him. A furious, insanely jealous O.J. comes completely unglued, charges over to them and exchanges harsh words with Ron. O.J. fights with him and Nicole tries to break up the fight, and O.J., blinded by white hot rage, stabs them, and slits their throats. Then, he remembers he has a flight to catch so he gets in his Bronco and races back home. He bumps into an air conditioner in the dark of night, drops one of his gloves, goes in the house and strips out of his clothes and takes a quick shower. Earlier, limo driver Alan Park sees O.J. crossing his lawn, headed for the front door.

I'm sure she was at the time. But I recently saw a clip from a DV presentation Denise Brown participated in a few years ago where, based on everything she's learned since the murders, she shared her belief that Nicole would never have been able to escape her toxic and abusive relationship with OJ Simpson, suggesting that she might have even returned to him again. Chilling! Both Denise and her younger sister Tanya now believe battered women need to be seen as potential murder victims.

Yeah it was really an issue that fed into itself. There were no winners at the end of this situation. He got off but it couldn’t have been that great for him after he was known as a murderer and mocked for the rest of his life. He was definitely a narcissist and it’s sounds like she could’ve been struggling with some BPD which makes a lot of sense because narcs are VERY drawn to people with BPD. There’s a lot of medical links between the two they’ve found in studies.

31:55 This is so heartbreaking to hear. Chronic abuse and the dynamics of abusive relationships ALWAYS result in the victim/abused blaming themselves at some point and ALWAYS to a significant enough degree that the self-blame is a symptom of victims’ learned behavior to actually abuse themselves, albeit consciously and/or consciously but feel helpless to break the perpetual cycle of abuse and learned helplessness. The victim sadly knows all too well that the only chance of resolution and any minute hope they have that their abuser will one miraculous day, the abuser will realize what they are doing and the damage they have caused, feel empathy and remorse, and change, is for the victim to appease and take the blame for “their part” if not all of the abuse and whatever led up to it. Some abusers will at some point show some form of acknowledgment and accountability but usually conditional or in some form of manipulation to the already abused, manipulated, confused victim. Nicole missed O.J., or in my opinion missed the idea of who she believed him to be before he showed his true colors…..and although she was the one to leave and separate from their marriage and had apparently blamed him for it, her insidious cycle of being abused and self abuse coupled with therapy and learning to take accountability in life caused use to tragically make the ill fated decision to take the blame for the demise of their relationship, without asking or expecting any reciprocated gesture on OJ’s part, which softened his heart just enough to believe in their “love”, which for an abuser can’t separate love from violence, and was just unknowingly reinforced this belief by Nicole telling him she was the ONE AND ONLY to blame…..which is impossible in even the best of relationships. Thus the toxic, dangerous and ultimately, deadly, cycle of violence and abuse wheels began turning for the final time 😢 RIP Nicole, you were literally only a kid when OJ got hold of you, and you never had a chance to know who you were, what a healthy relationship looked and felt like, and that you deserved so much better. And to Ron, I am so sorry you lost your life for what is seemingly senseless reason…..but let us not ever forget you lost your life attempting to save another’s, and that as humans we are all faced with in atleast one character make or breaking point in our lives with the choice to do what’s right, selflessly and unconditionally, despite any and all potential consequences, even losing your life……to choose to do what’s right, Or to sell yourself and figuratively sell your own soul, and do what is EASY. Ron DIED A HERO, and must be honored and remembered as such!!
@deehello1177

What a toxic relationship. OJ leaves out everything on his part, and only tells her part. Even so, I believe it all, because you can't just make that stuff up. Anyone who has ever been in, or known of a toxic relationship knows everything he said is all too familiar. Right out of a playbook. They were both toxic, and drove each other nuts. It wasn't love, but an obsession. They didn't want each other, but didn't want no one else to have them either. None of it justifies what he did. Murder is a whole another thing. Even though she never deserved to be murdered that does not mean she was innocent. The saddest part of all is that Ron Goldman was innocent. OJ, and Nicole's insanely toxic relationship killed an innocent man. Life is not a game, and should never be played like that. Ultimately if it doesn't stop someone is going to pay the the ultimate price. In this case only 2 of those players should have, but instead one was not the other player.

Obviously OJ is telling this from his perspective and he wants us to see him as the good guy. He needs us to feel that way. We know oj was much different than this. This by no means means i agree with what he did, but i bet alot of this at its core is describing reasonably true incidents. It sounds to me that nicole and oj were toxic together and that both had hands in how their marriage went along. Im sure there were provocations on both sides. Oj was no saint. Im guessing she wasnt either. Still, what happened to her was inexcuseable. Horrifying really. I have no proof but i suspect the tone of this book could basically be reversed.
