Siargao is now on my list of places to settle. My #1 goal in my Philippines retirement is to swim in the ocean every day. Whether that is scuba, snorkeling, or just floating. A big bonus would be good restaurants nearby since I don't cook. Subbed. Thanks man!

Would you choose Siargao over Panglao. I haven't been to either place, but I want to visit at least one. Good video Evan.
@wanderingdoc50757 ай бұрын
I would personally. I spend a lot of time in Bohol. Panglao is incredibly touristy and caters to Korean tourists who overrun the place. Siargao is a more chill vibe. Better food too.
@chrisj3027 ай бұрын
I still would though Siargao, even though General Luna is becoming super touristy. I remember 12 years ago Tourism road was a dirt road. But depends what you like to do. Do you surf or prefer to dive? You want land sports like tennis and Pickleball which are on Bohol but not on Siargao. Food is healthier on Siargao imo. Though Siargao used to on,y have that Bob Marley/Jack Johnson vibe and it’s been turning into a bit of a Boracay like scene with more local tourists visiting. Still an awesome place and mostly a laid back vibe. Right now Siquijor has become the new expat hotspot though not sure I’d live there. If you are young aren’t a senior then all of these places are awesome. For seniors the concern might be for medical facilities which I think are better in Bohol. But visit for yourself as you’ll get a ton of options online.

Sairgao is terrible for dating. It's a small little beach town where everyone knows everyone and if you don't surf Sairgao is a total waste of time. The beaches aren't nice at Sairgao General Luna and Cloud 9.

I won't say you couldn't pay me to live in BGC -- you MIGHT be as rich as Bernard Arnault and be willing to pay me enough to live there. But I HATE big cities. So it would cost you a pretty penny. I'm glad that you are expanding your horizons a bit. I think the Philippines has so much to offer outside of a cheaper version of Manhattan. (And even Bernard Arnault doesn't have the money to pay me to live in Manhattan.) It will make the channel more interesting to hear about some of the rest of the country.

I am seeking a location not too distant from the sea with perhaps some geographical assets such as General Nakar, along with weather conditions similar to Valencia, which is 10 km away from Dumaguete. Baguio is not the sole place offering pleasant weather to assist in defeating the heat during the summer season. There exist several areas on Cebu and close to Ormoc Leyte. Additionally, it has been reported that there are some attractive locations nearby Mindanao. where I can manage animals,fruits and vegetables. cultivate cash crops, and enjoy life with my Asawa.

It's great the Philippines has so many different options to choose from. It is just finding the right place for each of us. Spent some time in BGC on my last trip, I really did not like it, It had none of the charm and friendliness I've come to love about the Philippines. Kind of reminded me of living in Irvine CA. I have not been to Siargao, but I noticed the plane going there is usually filled with man-bun dudes who seem to have skipped a few showers so I think I'll keep it off my list for the time being.
