This actually happened to me when I moved into a new college apartment complex. I went to visit my family for the weekend and when I returned all of my stuff had been thrown away. They had accidentally marked my apartment as available for rent and thought I had abandoned all of my belongings which I guess is pretty common with college students. Since I was only gone for a weekend, I packed the bare minimum of clothes and makeup. They threw away everything I owned, makeup, clothes, shoes, bedding, kitchen items, etc. We settled on an amount that they paid me, but I had to completely rebuild my makeup collection that I had been grown since middle school; I lost a lost of limited edition items that I still think about lol. BUT the bright side was that it really made me rethink how I collect makeup, now my collection is much smaller and I am really intentional with what I buy.

Julia!!!! This actually happened to me! Last summer I went on a road trip in Seattle and our car got broken into. All of my favorite high end makeup and skin care was stolen! I didn’t have anything to put on my face not even lotion. I went to Nordstrom the next day to at least get a mascara and it made me cry because of how much I had lost after building up my collection.

An apartment fire was my actual nightmare. My parents came to visit while I was living in Phoenix and while staying at their hotel, the laundry room diagonal from my unit caught fire, which then spread to my poor unit. Thankfully I wasn’t home, but of course, I was devastated that all of my makeup was either destroyed or smoke damaged. I didn’t have the collection I have now (I was primarily a MAC girl at the time and mainly did lips), but rebuilding was painful, especially because the insurance adjusters could care less how much 20+ MAC lipsticks/lip liners cost… 🫠 But thank goodness, I was safe, right? 😅

I just ordered the kosas cloud set and I’m so excited - I like trying on PMG shadows whenever I walk into sephora (I’m planning on finally buying a mothership this year) and I always end up with glitter under my eyes - the kosas powder fixes the worst of it so I don’t walk out of sephora looking like a clown

Heyyy Julia! If you like the kinda glowy but not too glowy eyeshadow consistency, I think you would really like Japanese eyeshadows ! Bc they are usually that really pretty satten finish and very natural no makeup makeup looking !

And I am not very wrinkly at 57 but it makes my skin look dry and dehydrated. Something hard to do here in FL. (just an fyi for us older ladies) I am also addicted to blush. Want a rose inc. one sometime. Like Azalea. Kosas brow has been on my radar for awhile but I need a light color. Not sure they have one. I love the idea of replacing everything, and always think of the airlines losing my makeup bag in that situation and me panicking and trying to find my faves quickly, and where?! It's good to have a backup plan, or backup supply somewhere. 👍
