I imagine he was. I'm an somewhat serious competitive distance runner and I can pretty comfortably maintain a 7 minute mile (4:20 km) pace for much longer than a 5k. And I'm not at all unique. My friends who run in college can pretty comfortably maintain 6:30 pace for the same distances.

Any tips for running? I've recently started and I'm horrible at it. I get tired within 300m. I've never been active and now my health is going a bit downhill so I'm trying to do any type of physical activity Edit : I just read a bit and I realised I've been sprinting. As an xc run, i can say that running is one of the mentally and physically hardest things a human can do. Big props to you for staying determined. I went from a 19;59 to a 18;51 3 mile this season and it was verrrry much a mental battle more than a physical battle

Everyone's talking about the pacemaker and other people who helped him along the journey. That's true, those guys deserve a lot of credit, but so does KSI. Without him this whole thing might have not happened. Some people need someone to shit on them, it's what gives them motivation, what makes them stronger.

@@MrHenry-ru2xf maybe you're right. I'm not saying he had good intentions, I'm saying if he hadn't done this callus might not have done so well or he might have not even tried to break the record. Some people (I repeat, some) sometimes work better when they're being mocked, kind of like it's a challenge. I remember being made fun of by my classmates back in high school because my mouth was always open. It really hurt my feelings, but I ended up fixing that problem, and in a weird way, I appreciate what they did. Although, I wouldn't do that to other people, friends or not, at least that's how I'd like to think I am.

This video's editing structure is incredible. Like a whole movie. Spoilers: The protagonist is at the pinnacle of failing towards the end, with flashbacks of him struggling (lol). I mean I see where you’re coming from but CAL did the running not him, he was an integral role in supporting cal through the run and was vital to his emotional well being but as far as everything else goes that’s all cal baby, maybe like 2k?

This is truly one of my favorite KZbin vids, because it shows that with your back against the wall, with hard work and determination, an average joe can become incredible. I know that compared to a lot of times, this is really bad, but the fact that he dropped so much time in only a moth is incredible to me.

That’s the best vid I’ve seen for a LONG time, it had highs and lows and JJ’s proper belly laugh. It just shows how powerful the mind is in life and any sport, a normal dude can achieve anything if they put their mind to it (sorry Callux!), tbf I did subscribe after watching this and that’s rare for me! Shout out to Ben, to take a complete stranger under his wing and shave so much time is just unbelievable. But most importantly a massive congratulations to Callux, genuinely so proud and it was heartwarming to see how hard you were pushing yourself. You literally gave it everything and although you had times you were giving up on yourself, you didn't want to let Ben down and my god you made him, us and most importantly yourself proud.
