After 15+ years in web dev, I know how I would do it again and I want to share it with you. There are many routes in web development, you can make your own route, hopefully this will help!

Thanks for sharing your tips, Eddie. I'm curious if is it more valuable to share our learning on Twitter than on Medium? Because, whenever I google for solutions to my projects I can always see a bunch of Medium Articles displayed at the beginning but not Twitter. Looking forward to your helpful reply, as this is really going to help me to make my decision. Thanks again 🙏🙏🙏

@@shinobi_coder88 thank you for your feedback! Both are useful and serve a different purpose. Yes on Twitter things are quickly lost but it is great for engagement. Blogs do have more longevity and searchability. I recommend doing both.

Documenting my journey and making it public is something I regret not doing when I was learning to code. I was almost anti-social media at the time. I often wonder if that would have helped me land my first job faster. Also did you say you're 40!! The digital nomad life must be why you don't look a day over 30!

Summary & Notes 1. Make a GitHub and Twitter account (two most important platforms for developers) 2. Getting Started: Learn HTML, CSS and create project, put it on GitHub. You use GitHub Pages to host it as a static webpage. 3. Learn JavaScript (freecodecamp is a good resource) 4. Learn libraries like Bootstrap 5. Share your work and what you're learning by tweeting about it everyday. Eddie calls it "standup" 6. Start Contributing to Open Source Projects

Hey Eddie! I love this video so much but I think it would be more helpful to : - add screenshots or a video while you are explaining at timestamp 4:00 onwards (just explaining in words feels a bit incomplete) - add a little checklist on the side of the video to remind us of what we need to go through (was thinking this is a silly ask but then you always encourage asking so I had to give it a shot as I got lost there)

You don't need to post the project each day, post something you learnt or share a tip, pin the tweet that has the link to the repo, then people can find it without you being too pushy
