i think that's the biggest problem the whole album suffers from (including the standard), ttpd just feels like a collection of scraps from different eras. it doesnt have a sound that is unique to itself unlike midnights (bejeweled annoying synth 1989 vault scraps core), lover (light and atmospheric), reputation (dark and industrial), 1989 (chic maximalist pop). the closest song with a proper unique sonic representation of ttpd would probably be waolom, but then again the album never explored more of gothic

@@WJSN_officiaI In my opinion, it has its own vibe, it’s like a sequel to Midnights bc it’s after the anxiety and issues of the relationship (reflected on Lover and Midnights), the relationship has finally ended and she’s telling us how she’s lived afterwards. As for the sound, it’s mostly synth at its core, which makes sense because it’s a sequel as I mentioned earlier. I think it’s on purpose and also bc Taylor is comfortable in that sound, but some songs do have a haunting sound she hasn’t done before like WAOLOM, MBOBHFT, Fortnight, FOTS and Clara Bow.

Yess totally agree Maybe add some guitar cords in the bridge or background so the backgound melody is fuller. 2:04 is also a good place to do a build up on: "in the way you move" On "move" there could be a pause in the drums so the drop hits more and the effects on the voice/ time warp (idk what it's called)it stands out. Cause I liked that a lot. Or the word "move" could be enhanced by adding an arpeggio ( = accord breaking ) which leads to the drop. With a guitar and a bass Actually just adding more depth and fullness by adding character with interesting arpeggios throughout the song in the drums could make a big contrast to the smoothing effect on the voice. Just some ideas because I would love if taylors new music especially the last few albums had more "character" Because in my opinion her voice sounds way better with acoustic/"real"minstruments like good guitar and bass like in her first albums. Mixing that sound with rep and 1989 sound would be so nice because the melody and production is there and slaying but it needs more enhancin imo. Just giving some tipps cause this version has so many new edits and more depth than the original but it would be so cool reaching the songs full potential
