I decided to put a little spin on the challenge I did a few months ago. We donated to a charity called The Daylight Centre based in Wellingborough, however almost every town should have a donation station for a local food bank. Some Tesco's even have carts in store to drop off items which they will then take to the food bank.

True, the local high school was asking for donations of feminine products because girls are missing school since they don't have anything to use on their period. Made me really sad since I never had that issue and my daughters will never had that issue so I never thought about those that might. Now I understand why my hometown had boxes of tampons and pads in the nurses office for people to grab.

I just did an act of kindness I bought a solo mum Christmas food . I'll be taking it to her on the eve of Christmas.. I teach miss almost six to do kind things to others for others as often as she can . she's so giving loves hugs and smiles at everyone . I found out 5 years ago I have 2 genetic chronic disabilities. I’ve been unable to work & so thankful for the money I receive now I’m no longer able bodied. My parents are retired & found themselves in some financial difficulty a few months ago, & of course I helped them out. Unfortunately it did mean (which I didn’t put onto my parents shoulders) that I was unable to afford to feed myself, & found myself using my local food bank for the first time in my life. I’d never felt so anxious & low, but they were truly so kind & understanding, they didn’t pass judgement which is something I think many people are fearful of. I had just enough to get me through until pay day & I’ve been fine since. This month I donated three bags of food to the food bank, & the same staff were on who were there the day I needed help. They were so grateful! I can’t stress enough that food banks need help *all* year round, even if it’s just throwing an extra bag of pasta, sauce, beans, sanitary products.. anything in the trolley while you do your own shop. This is something I will now do when I shop too & I pop it down every few weeks. Big, big thank you to your Mum & you Ana for your help & spreading awareness. You’ve helped people like me get through some difficult times this year. None of us ever know when we’ll need that extra helping hand, & it’s nice to know we can donate while we’re fortunate to do so. Love to all of you xx ❤️

I always throw something extra into the food donation point at Sainsbury's when I can afford to. I'm not rich by any means but it's so easy to pick up a couple of affordable items and throw them in alongside whatever I'm shopping for. I’ve volunteered at my local food bank for a few years, and something that always sticks with me is once when we were taking an emergency parcel into the women’s aid and one of the wee boys got so excited by the fact there was a pack of cheap ginger biscuits.
