We already live this in a way. It doesn't make sense to have to pay for water. You have to buy something to go to the bathroom in most places. Rent is a subscription by another name. Insurance is a subscription. And unless you want to sit staring at your walls whenever you're home, you're gonna have to pay a couple conventional subscriptions too. This could be fine if things were less expensive or we made more money, but this can't last.

Sad thing is, this is real life for some people. If you got eye problems in the US hope you enjoy paying to get it treated the rest of your life, im unsure if hearing problems are 1 time payments or not, probably depends if its getting worse overtime or not. Certain nerve stimulation devices (that are used to treat migraines and the like) you need to buy out of pocket and pay a subscription to use (with only a certain number of uses per month, per plan).
