Then there's the durability of a Stand to think about--how tough they are and how resilient their abilities are. Killer Queen might not be strong enough to take hits from Crazy Diamond, but it's no slouch either, and easily blocked hits from Echoes ACT 3. I think Stand Users, who already have powerful souls, can likely guard their souls in the same way they guard against hits from other Stands.

But I think power type stands like Star Platinum hit stronger than Yuji.

If Kira is in the fight then he will have Bites The Dust already prepped default unless it's explicitly stated that he can't use it. Even with limitations that you think it has he can _easily_ activate the ability against Mahito. The only way to stop him from using the ability is to outright stop him before he can press the button. Which Mahito can't do because he is not even supersonic and can't see the Stand to begin with.
