Simple answer, his body is actually preserved ever since he passed away 1400 years ago, so his body would be in perfect shape and form, it would look like as if he had just died a second ago. Allah has favored him over everyone else and because he was the best man in the world that had never sinned, and because he was a prophet of Allah (SWT), if you would his tomb (which would be disrespectful and haram), but if we were to try to open it, 2 things might happen. 1 would be either- something prevents u from opening it and that is the angel that is guarding it, just like how there is an angel guarding the doors of Makah, when the dajjal comes, the angel will keep him out and he won't let him through, and same thing here, there may be a protector of the prophet's (ص) grave. Or second, we might be able to open it successfully and we would see his beautiful and shinning face صلى الله عليه وسلم ❤ But that would be haram and it's best to be patient, wait until the day of judgement and we will meet him then inshallah. Amen
