This is the first "sad" ending that doesnt bother me in the slightest, it's sad, but it was based on the characters choice instead of a cheap death like gay films usually do. Mario chose to live a life of appearences to keep his career over his love for Leon. Leon moved on, and Mario paid the price. It's a beautiful message, it's not a happy one but definitely true to reality. Overall a very sweet movie.

This was a great film. Chemistry is SOOOOO important between the leads in any film, but especially so in love stories. If the chemistry is not there, it’s just not believable, and viewers won’t connect with the characters. These guys had an amazing chemistry. I loved the story and the acting. While it had a sad ending, I would have liked to see these guys remain together, it was completely understandable why things ended up the way they did. Great film which I highly recommend! ✌🏻🙂✌🏻

Mario regrets turning on Leon for the whole duration of his booming soccer career so much that he tries to take another chance and is too late to do anything about it. Leon also kind of rushed into a relationship too soon as if seeking a rebound and not being as happy as he felt with Mario, which is another sign of him surrendering to the pressure of society. There have been enough happily out athletes though that don't have to go through the sadness of these two and I feel that should have influenced a more hopeful note than a punishing depressing one.

Oh my God this movie was amazing I did not want to stop watching it, I did not want it to end, the story was so authentic with real emotions. I'm glad the soundtrack wasn't heavy. Sometimes silence helps you really understand the character. I wish they created a part 2 to show him and Leon back together but honestly I work in sports and this happens all the time. People all over the world need to understand that one does NOT choose to be gay. God created them out of love in that way. What one does in the bedroom between two consenting adult individuals of the same gender is nobody's business . Both Mario are Leon are great footballers but they had to conform to society's image of footballers who must be heterosexual in order to get contracts, sponsors , satisfy the fans etc. I believe Mario chose his career over love as he didn't want to disappoint his father as after all his father was working closely with the football team and moreso Mario couldn't see a future without playing football especially as he had hoped to play professional football some day. Leon on the other hand felt hurt that Mario chose career over love and left the team.I really liked Marioś character and felt sad for him as he portrayed a certain innocence and pure love for Leon. It seems it might have been his first true love. Love hurts but life goes on and hopefully Mario will find another true love in the future. Leon already has found another to replace Mario as he says to Mario in the end that that he doesn't love him anymore.

Still frustrated for Leon's outcome, he deserved a lot better! He was flushed down the drain together with his dreams. I hoped the society will evolve better to give equal chances for everyone in whatever fields they choose to foray. Mario's was a bitter pill to swallow it was an outcome of his choices. I hoped they delved more deeply with Mario's relationship with his father, his coming out, and the karma of his colleagues. Nonetheless it was still worth the watch.

Maybe Leon didn't really love Mario that much. Cuz if he did, then he would not have looked for a replacement. It seems to me that he couldn't live a day without a partner. Felt bad for Mario. He's really in love.

kenanthoughts Leon left because he couldn’t take the pressure of keeping it a secret (which I totally get out of experience from being with closeted people. It’s really draining). He made the choice that was the best and healthiest for him. Plus there was a time skip. We don’t know how long but I think it was like 1-2 years since Mario has made a career out of soccer and Leon has a new job. He didn’t just look for a replacement he moved on which everyone eventually has to do after a break up
