As a writer with 750,000 words of fic published, of which over 70 are still WIP, I can confidently state that being pragmatically lazy is top-tier artistic craft. Gotta know when to cut corners if you're ever gonna get anywhere with your craft. (Or you wind up like that guy who made the video on how it took him ten years to make a graphic novel and how he learned from that experience not to take ten years making a graphic novel.) (For clarity: I mean it's a level of artistic craft I hope to someday achieve, because ADHD and Perfectionism make it exponentially harder to make headway on my pile of WIP.)

I'm a computer science professor, teaching this sort of thing for a living every day, and I really did a double take at how well this video was put together. The way you broke down the problem and then edited the video together was wonderful. I teach about 30 hours of content per course per term, and I really wish that this sort of thing was feasible to do for entire courses. Thanks so much for the great video.

Your videos inspire me to break them down, taking them step by step, therefore being able to enjoy the process, marvel at what I find and celebrate each achievement, which is a HUGE step for me. In your videos, you do it in such an understandable way, a digestible pace and with these soft pleasant aesthetics. Short videos with a long-term impact. I celebrate the day you gave birth to this channel. I have just joined your subscription plan, so I am part of the Hype Squad now ❤

Instead of distance based, in this cases I usually do random based. Each mouse movement with 2% chance spawn a star. It's cheaper in processing and usually gives a better more natural effect

That doesn't sound reflective of the the "real-world" cause of the stars' dispersion. I'm imagining a magic wand or sparkler firework. The stars should be emanating at a constant rate and their distribution dictated mainly by the speed (and therefore distance) at which the wand (or sparkler) is waved around in the air.

I remember years ago, like in the 90s or early 2000s, there was a page with this really cool JavaScript effect. There were a set of periods forming the hands of a clock around the mouse cursor, with the date in text circling around them. When you moved the mouse, the entire series of characters would trail behind it, and when you stopped moving the mouse they would gather back together and reform the clock.

Man, I think I've found a gem in you. For context, I just started getting into the big and scary world of computer science, coding and programming last week. I'm currently taking courses like CS50 on edX and trying to slowly build my understanding of the fundamentals, which might take some time in my case, as I'm not a particularly tech-savvy person. With that in mind, I find it absolutely amazing how well-edited this video is, but most of all, just how it beautifully and gradually breaks down the entire logical process of recreating a cute little effect you saw on some web page. Even in other fields I am more familiar with, like art, it's always daunting to look at the desired end result and then think about how to actually get there. Seriously, great video! And great channel, from what I've seen so far (this was pretty much an insta-subscribe). It's nice, it's smooth, elegant, no bs and straight to the point. CRISP and it hits just like freshly-baked bread. Kudos!

Just as amazing as this one, this video is actually a perfect example of the best method to present information to someone who's looking to learn something new. The reason behind it is a lot of psychological stuff that would take too long to explain but comes down to about three main factors: Having it written down, someone/something reading what is written down and concrete animations showcasing the effects.
