Personal stories: a) I knew a big, burley guy once. A little overweight, but mostly a solid rugby/football player in high school. He was diagnosed with high blood pressure. Refused to go on meds. Wanted to find an holistic method. Was a 60s hippy in 2012. Ended up having a catastrophic stroke. Visited him with a friend who had gone so school with him. I remember riding the elevator after seeing the guy; silence. Both of us in shock, that this outgoing, incredibly gregarious guy could no longer speak. b) My brother had cardiovascular issues. (A family thing.) Was on blood pressure meds. Ate extremely well. Ran. Was 65-going-on-50. Was walking to the mailbox at the end of the driveway, had an incident (massive stroke) and was dead before he hit the asphalt. Lesson? Sometimes you can do nothing right, sometimes you can do everything right and your days are still numbered. That's not a nice lesson, so how about this one: Love as much as you can while you're able. 'Dance like there's nobody watching?' How about 'Love like there's no tomorrow. Family, friends...and yourself.'
