If the Jazz trade with the Golden State Warriors who should they want in the deal

You've made multiple comments over the weeks about Cody Williams not being able to dribble much and you put him in the same category as Hendricks. I'm seeing something completely different. Cody seems to have a pretty solid handle, much better than I expected and I'm excited to see more from him with the ball in his hand. I think he has good potential as a ball handler and even secondary playmaker since he seems to move the ball well.

@@javierlandaverde4108just looked up his stats. 33% from 3 on only 2 attempts? Not increasing volume each year either. Not great and last season was only 32. Compare that to Lauri who shoots 40% on 9 attempts almost and does that on very high difficulty shots. Kuminga isn’t a good shooter. Sorry.

@@brainhunter1000 no one said he will be elite shooter like Lauri. Nor shouldn’t you compare Lauri with Kuminga. Both totally different players. That’s the problem. Lauri already came in the league known as a stretch big. Kuminga came in as an athletic attacking PF who does damage on the break and near the rim. It’s like comparing apples to oranges. Now, where Kuminga was coming in as a “non - shooter”. 33% is solid as a 3 year player with only 2 attempts. Mind you, he was on and off as a starter and bench. He did most of his damage as a 3 level scorer. Not a catch and shoot guy like Lauri which primarily is his weapon. Last 15 games stretch Kuminga avg 24ppg. Kuminga is more compare like a Gianis type of scorer. It’s just he’s has a better shooting touch and his mid range game is solid.

It seems that the teams that can be among the 5 best defensive teams, and have the best shooters in the NBA win championships. Obtaining Kuminga doesn't get me excited at all. Good defender, but I don't think he'll ever be the shooter a championship team needs. I'd like to see a trade between San Antonio where they have the most desirable assets with the Atlanta picks they posses.

The Lauri situation is interesting because, as a Jazz Fan, I'm on the boat of keeping him because he is such a unique player. He is so good. Even if he has some flaws and is perceived as a top 25 - 30 player in the NBA and not a top 10 player, players with his combination of size, athleticism, and shooting don't grow on trees. I think he gets traded and should get traded...not because I want him to be traded, but it would be such an opportunity cost of other teams to not trade for him. I'm shocked OKC is not in lead for him...they can easily put together a combination of picks and players to satisfy the Jazz's criteria for Lauri. Also, if I'm a Warriors fan and my team loses out on Lauri and all that was needed to complete the deal was throw in Podziemski, and that was the sticking point...I'd be so pissed. If you believe that Lauri is the piece that gets you in the conversation of a championship, don't you just do it? Podziemski is a nice, young player, but Golden State with Lauri is just a different beast. So, I think someone will eventually meet Danny's price, and the Jazz will go through a tough year where development is the priority over wins before positioning themselves to get some more talent through the upcoming drafts. Whoever gets Lauri (and I'd be thrilled if the Jazz keep him!) you are getting a true unicorn who may be the best force multiplier player in the game today.

I think the Jazz should try to do a 4 team trade, with GSW, NOP, Portland and the Jazz. (1) The Jazz trade Lauri Markkanen and Darius Bazley to GSW, and trade John Collins, Jordan Clarkson, a 1st round pick and cash to Portland; (2) GSW trades Andrew Wiggns, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody and draft picks (# of picks to be negotiated between GSW and Jazz) to the Jazz; (3) NOP trades Brandon Ingram to the Jazz; and (4) Portland trades Deandre Ayton to NOP.

Lauri should only be traded if the return includes 2025 and 2026 first round lottery picks. Yes the Warriors have their 1st rnd picks for 2025 and 2026 to trade but Warriors with Curry, Lauri, Draymond, Wiggins, Hield will be at least a play in team, so these picks will be no better than the 18th picks. Pass trading Lauri to the Warriors

I’m a warriors fan but there are delusional fans out there who only support the young players. These guys are Kuminga or Podz bandwagons, not true warriors fans. @@BestBoss2005 Lauri is also shooting 23PPG on 63%TS. 2 seasons ago he shot 25PPG on 64% TS. Only other guys close are Embid, Jokic, Lebron, SGA, and Giannis. He also shooting 48/39/89, almost 50/40/90. Podz - 45/38/63 JK - 52/32/74 Podz or Jk aren’t even close to those production numbers and if they were, y’all would go ape shit. Yes they’re younger but Curry won’t be here when they’re good so there’s no point.

There is an overpriced value in Laurie, asking for a Type A price for a Type B player in Laurie. You do searches online for the NBA top 30, and you are not really going to see him on that list, but Ainge (Delusional trader) wants the top 30 price in return. You can go sign him and keep him. I bet dubs will be able to find others available near the trade deadline for a much cheaper cost.

I think this topic is stale. Warriors don’t want to deal with Ainge after his last crazy offer. He screwed up not taking the young sharpshooter Moody and all the picks and swaps. If I’m Ainge, I may swing at podz with Laurie and plus pick swap, but honestly moody and all those picks looks like the better offer. If warriors are smart they go find any defensive guy over 6’8 for a cheap trade. Even Ben Simmons would be fine. They just need D. Ainge isn’t the guy to trade with. Hes famous for being stubborn and unrealistic.
