I love your perspective! I was asking God this same question earlier and came across these verses. We are obviously saved by grace due to the fact that all our works are rags compared to God. But it definitely still matters that we produce good fruit in cooperation with Grace and faith. References: Matthew 7: 16. By their fruits ye shall know them. 21: Not everyone that saith unto me, lord, lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my father which is in heaven. 22: Many will say to me in that day, lord, lord, have we not prophesied in they name? and in they name have cast out devils? and in they name done many wonderful works? 23: And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you, depart from me, ye that work iniquity. James 2: 17--Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 21: Was not Abraham our father justified by works? 22: Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 24: Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. 26: For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

If we are saved by GRACE...why do works? Answer: Because you will be judged according to your works. See Matthew chapter 25. I confess, this bothers me. While compassion, helpfulness and kindness are good things, I think far less people living today would let some stranger who knocked on their door spend the night. Too much crime. Jesus probably lived some of his life in desert-country. But today, we have unemployment checks, local Food Banks, the Salvation Army and Goodwill. But i dont work at any of them. But in Matthew, those who didn't clothe naked, or feed the hungry, etc....did not make it into Heaven. And then, I have awful thoughts of "duty & drudgery". Ughhh. I am not wired to be a social worker. And it LOOKS to me as if getting into Heaven is too much about how many good deeds I went around doing (How about if people are simply less needy, myself included? or if we at least try to hold it down to "Emergencies"? Myself included. The thought of judgment day and worrying about how much more money i should have given to the food bank, or how many sandwiches i made (or didnt) at the soup kitchen, or guilt that I didnt give money to the person at the intersection holding a cardboard sign....makes me wanna groan. I am not wired for doing community service. At all. Duty & drudgery again. There must be 50 other ways I'd rather spend my free time. Ughh. That doesnt mean I cant be kind to people, even donating 10 bucks. But reading Matthew 25 makes me feel like Heaven is too much based on how many community service hours I logged-in, or how many boyscout good deeds I went around doing, and that its the social workers who inherit the kingdom of Heaven. And I'm not one of them. Sigh. I can still be a nice guy. . . ,any help/teaching appreciated. Thanks.

Could you just talk about the bible, and what you get out of it and explain why you use the colors you use? I really believe you would get more comments. People are starving for preaching of God's Word. Not being mean, but you talk an awful alot. Just straight to the point. Precise bullet points. I do like your organization of how you use and apply your colors. Thx :)
