Appearing in MGM's "Thin Man" series swansong, _Song of the Thin Man_ as essentially himself, hipster "The Neem" (his actual nickname), Henry Nemo was solely responsible for or had a hand in a number of gems of pop's Golden Age. The beautiful "Don't Take Your Love From Me" and " 'Tis Autumn" are Nemo tunes. Ellington's great '38 instrumental "I Let a Song Go Out of My Heart" had its standard status ensured when The Neem's lyric was added and the number became a favourite of jazz vocalists. ... I've always liked this pop ditty, with which I became familiar via the Teagarden orch's treatment, featuring leader Jack's vocal. In her typical fashion, Dolly does some melodic tinkering and sings with apparent feeling. The arrangement is very attractive!
