Also, the "bot lobby" comments don't make sense when skillbased matchmaking isn't a thing in this game, there is literally no way to manipulate lobbies like i've been accused of SO many times over the past week. Most snipers who are GOOD at this game, took YEARS of practice to get that good. An average player cannot hop on & drop 80+ kills with a sniper in this game. Anyone can snipe passively, but how many can really snipe aggressively in this game?

Another good tip that may seem extremely obvious if you’re a seasoned FPS player is flanking. A lot of people have terrible awareness in this game. Just flank a lane and come up behind them. I consistently get multiple 5 and 6 on’s a game doing this.

Players have been coddled by sbmm and now that they don’t have the crutch they realize where they actually stand gunplay wise. Marksman rifles are also nice in this game. Reminds me of the good old run and gun cod’s that actually let you aggressively snipe like you did.

The issues with people accusing you of 'reverse boosting' is that a majority of these dudes that are playing now have only ever had SBMM. Guys that have been playing any FPS, especially COD, since before 2010 understand the term 'get gud'. Like these little homies dont understand the pre SBMM and having to actually get better at a game. The kids crying (in my opinion) are the kids who have been protected by SBMM over the years and probably haven't improved. In no way what I am about to say in defense of anything, but isn't SBMM not meant to help people learn faster than a lobby full of pro players? What are you gonna learn from not being able to play because the "really good" players are just murdering you? At least with SBMM when you do REALLY good against like-skilled players, your next lobby will be full of people that are also getting better...so you learn. Over time it builds skill. So while you say SBMM is bad, it really isn't. It isn't for everyone, sure, but for new players to the genre, or new players to games in general, it's beneficial. That being said, I don't care either way.

It's helped me maintain my skill level over the years, and honestly, without SBMM, I feel bad for guys I go up against who obviously aren't decent at the game at all. Even me just 'chilling' on the game can be seen as sweating to those players. I dont want to destroy guys twhoare learning because I know what iit'slike. But to tie it together, no I don't hate SBMM , but there are days where I'm like 'damn I really just want to chill on COD'. I’ve started sniping since Cold War, and I strongly agree with you - sniping aggressively is WAY different and takes more skill than people think. The amount of times I’ve been outgunned by an SMG or better snipers show the skill gap when it comes to sniping. I’m not up to your level, but I hope to be there one day. ❤

you're 100% correct, one of the biggest counters to sniping is just picking phantom, the extra hp, riot shield or the popup shield are major counters. Also idk how you play with your tac 50 loadout, the 12x is way too much zoom for these midrange to cqb maps and the ex mag makes me feel like i'm in slow motion so I gotta give you props. Me personally I run no muzzle cuz muzzle booster feels useless imo, lightweight, variable scope, quick mag, quick draw, and padded stock. Idk how but the 4x is perfect for most of the maps everyone seems to dislike the 4x tho lol.

you can shoot the head still with good aim on riot shield... normal phantom deploy shield has like 200 hp... Also. sniping in this game is hit scan so it's pretty easy

Hi. I snipe. I sniped in CoD growing up, and I played Widowmaker professionally for five years. Snipers, in most games, are categorically broken. When discussing design/balance of an fps, or any game really, you must consider both the average player and the above average player. At some point, having an infinite skill ceiling is just not good balance. Which, in most games, snipers do indeed have an infinite skill ceiling. That being said, it's the only way I have fun playing most games.

Sniping is def hard on xdefiant mainly due to the jump spamming and crazy movements players are able to do... And it feels kinda hard to make those quick micro adjustments while quickscoping as compared to cod.. The most annoying part is when enemies sit behind headglitches and hardscoping u... In the hands of a good sniper such as yourself..it may feel like the sniper is op.. But if u put ur work into it...there is nothing much the enemy can do other than to hope they miss their shots.. The sniper has always been a high risk high reward kind of weapon..and the only differentiating factor is how good you are with the weapon!

Do you think snipers are overpowered in xdefiant? I do think they need some flinch... but they're definitely not overpowered. It's far easier to counter a sniper than to counter an SMG upclose, so if you're losing gunfights to snipers up close... you need to learn movement better. 1 strafe a 9/10 times a sniper will miss/hitmarker, that's all it takes to counter a sniper in this game

@@ickilla Its even easier to counter snipers that are hardscoping. 1 hardscopers are generally the worst snipers. 2 even the best snipers will miss more time if you slide cancel air strafe. Saying think of half a team running snipers doesn't make a difference, because you stand more of a chance countering 3 snipers aiming at you than 3 smgs or ars.

My biggest pet peeve in fps games is when people just don’t want to admit that a player is just good (or the mindset of, “Oh he’s good at the game so he must be a loser”). If I get shit on by a sniper, I don’t think that snipers are broken. I just think, “Wow nice shot.” With movement like XD has, it’s pretty easy to out maneuver snipers in close quarters if you know what you’re doing. People just don’t want to learn how to move in the game and complain when other people actually learn how to move properly. Just to clarify, I don’t consider myself to be good at the game. I just enjoy playing it, and when I get hit with some crazy movement and get outplayed, I just tell myself that I should probably try and learn that move because of how well it worked on me.

The marksman rifles are a way bigger problem than the snipers. Faster ads, faster sights, faster movement, only takes one more shot to kill on average and the fire rate is vastly faster. People should be complaining about those before the snipers haha

I don’t even get mad when I lose games in xdefy. It’s bc not only am I truly having fun; but the old school grind of adapting and fixing holes in my game keeps me going. I went from losing hella games to winning more than losing. No sbmm and taking Ls to the chin is the only way to improve REALISTICALLY in fps. (Imho)

Snipers are overpowered indeed. A weapon being hard to use is not a good way to balance it... A weapon should be balanced by stats. Sniper rifles stats should be as good as other weapons, and if you are a truly good player you will be okay.

i noticed something pretty interesting last night. i was just messing around with the tac on the range and i figured out how to glitch the ads timing so it's stupid fast. if you slide jump and aim in like almost halfway right as you land, and then aim in again you can glitch the ads animation and it's a way faster ads time if you get the timing right. just kind of awkward lol but yeah i really dig the movement in this game .

I use this trick too, basically the sliding animation cancels out the long sprinted to fire time the snipers have so you can actually make use of your reduced ads speed from attachments

I’ve been saying this for years about SBMM and I’m glad xDefiant is here as a litmus test lol. SO many CoD players have been brainwashed and given such an inaccurate perception of their skill level bc of SBMM. They’re so used to going 1-10 kills positive nearly every game, and they think that means they’re good 😂. Since they’re stuck in their invisible skill bracket they have no concept of what is actually possible in the game, or that there’s players out there that would triple nuke the lobbies they struggle in 💀

True. Im not a super aggressive sniper in this game but Im not scared to step into close AR range and still cook because of movement and I enjoy it. I will say for some of my friends that arent as good at the game or movement they do struggle with the lane camping snipers because there isnt to much flinch in the game. I dont know how the lane campers have fun setting up shop for 10 min but tbh just flank them and get close with an AR or SMG till they switch or out snipe them lol.

After sniping for a while what i understood was that there was a overpowered aspect to snipers and that was the lack of flinch. That's fixed. I saw it a lot when going against lmg. Or even using the lmg. At a certain range if you shot at a sniper player before seeing it was a sniper if he was practiced you could die before killing him even if you got shots in first. I saw the flinch nerf in action and it seemed to me that they hit it a little to hard.

The first time I picked up this game(literally two days ago) I jumped right onto sniping & the only thing I wasn’t doing was strafe jumping(well not intentionally) & I’ve just been dominating lobbies I barely even play lol I’ll go into practice & hit 5 targets down consistently 10 times in a row then I go play for half an hour

​@mrdark601 okay child, since you do not understand the mechanics of aim assist nor could you code it into a potato let me break some of this down for you. Aim assist to begin with is unfair. Aiming is the hardest mechanic in the world to master in games, but a decent controller player can easily go on par with a much more seasoned KBM player who frequently practices their aim. There is a reason why every single Fortnite, CoD, Apex, and every other BR or TBS have a controller player on their pro team. To absolutely no coincidence the controller is never IGL either. Anyways, the mechanics that make up aim assist are: aim assist, aim lock, and bullet magnetism. - The aim assist does the pulling - The aim lock the actual locking onto the player for a brief time - The bullet magnetism being the curvature of bullets when the hit reticle is not on the player Realize what I just said, "the curvature of bullets when the hit reticle is not on the player". So not only do you take away the tracing element of aiming, but now you add a lock feature, and on top of it you aren't required to be on the player to actually land the shots. I did the profile stats on over 3,000 players in 2020 in Fortnite. Players with over 100 matches on each platform had an average higher K/D on controller by .8 Players with over 500 games had a K/D higher by more than 1 on controller on average. I'm not exactly an average player in any fps/tps but this can be shown on my trackers as well. In Fortnite my K/D on controller is over 7 with less than 100 games. Obviously it's going to be higher on KBM at 24 as I've been playing PC games since 2004 and almost no controller experience whatsoever. In CoD, I used controller for about a week and had a higher K/D than I did on KBM that mostly being due to the lack of mechanics in that awful allowing me to shred people without worrying about other mechanics such as building. Anyhow, I don't believe you're intelligent enough for a conversation about aim assist or any mechanics in games so I'll let you be.

This gives me nostalgia to a simpler time in call of duty when quickscoping was fun and had a big following, something I think has died in recent years of CoD and I think something I want xDefiant to embrace.

@@gunnem7629 the age thing was really a joke, it’s more just the lack of time to play and CoD not being good enough to waste my time on as I’ve gotten older. I could still jump on and quickscope to a decent degree, but it’s not something I put the time in to get great at anymore.

Sniping in this game takes no skill. In my opinion it shouldn’t even be on the game. Shooting someone 5 times in the upper body just to die by them running around with a sniper is so trash

Recently I’ve picked up the sniper and have been in love with the gameplay, some matches going 60+ kills and 20 sum odd deaths. I have noticed that sometimes you can get the shot off before you die, but the bullet doesn’t register for the trade. All in all The snipers in this game are not overpowered, now that 2 shot dmr is most definitely questionable

Hard fact: only skill players can make snipers look OP 🗣️ But playing like you just said in the video. Another example is scump he’s been using snipers and frying lobbies like crazy because he has the SKILL to do it! This is my second year only sniping and is so refreshing to snipe in another fps game! 🔥🤘🏼

Sniping is kinda OP though. The SSR/M16 are broken too. The ADS speed + minimal flinch is the reason. I also started using Phantom instead of Echelon for the hp buffer + wall. Don't get me wrong, it's not EASY. I'm only good at it cause I'm 30 and have been playing FPS since Unreal Gold. But it is pretty OP. If they cranked the flinch up a bit, it would be much more balanced IMO Edit: 17:35 that drag collat was nasty

Really enjoying sniping on this game. I get your point about being the bot if you're constantly running into sweats. But the reason I've been crying lately is that I was doing well in the first few days but the lobbies have just been getting sweatier (most people strafing as you mentioned to counter). K/D is is going down and down. How tf do you get worse over time?

First of all! Something everyone seems to have forgotten! There was a time we payed a lot extra to get the high DPI mouse, and maybe you still do, but not to the same degree. But I find it funny to see people buying high DPI mouses, and then they set it at 800 or even lower. The more DPI your mouse has, the more precise it is. You should set as high as you can, while you can still turn it down in software with sensitivity. the more dpi, the more precise it is. Then put a ruler on your mousepad. depeding on if you like high or low sens. when you have moved your mouse between 25-35cm on the mousepad, you should have done a 360 on screen. (and if you use freedom units, google can help you translate) Just copying someones DPI makes no sense - because more likely than not, it will end up not being the same on your PC as on his. Find something that you think works for you. And then stick with it. The worst you can do is change it around all the time, because you want it to become muscle memory

Anyone who says snipers are op typically aren’t the best at the game. I just feel like skill based matchmaking not being in the game makes people think that that’s why they are losing gun fights but as a 4kd player it doesn’t matter if I’m using a sniper or an ar/smg im doing a lot better than most lobbies. Just hit 4000 kills with the tac50 and people get mad all the time. Great video kitty some of the best points that people don’t really talk about. To many players don’t use movement or stand still when shooting and when you don’t focus on going for headshots with ars and smgs you are going to lose to a good sniper up close a lot of the time
