Wonderful, glorious, lest like it or lump it, we ever forget we live in a Christian culture blessed with wonderful music and a minority who celebrate its glory, so thank you. I emigrated to NZ many years ago, so whilst I'm duty-bound to say the All Blacks rule the roost on the field, this is Rugby at its finest, so thank you again. Oh, we sang this at the christening of both our boys who are now 36 and 33 and many times both before and after. It never fails to bring peace both to singers and listeners alike.

@@rugbymusicdepartment I imagine you must have a reasonably high turnover of boy trebles. If the youngsters are coming to Rugby School around the age of 13 Then sadly their time as trebles is so short.

@@bahoonies At Rugby School we attract some fantastic boys and girls voices, starting around the age of 13. Our recently launched chorister programme, aimed at 6 - 11 yr old singers, hopes to develop them from scratch through Bilton Grange prep school, just down the road from us, which is part of the Rugby Schools Group: www.rugbyschool.co.uk/co-curricular/chorister-programme/chorister-experience-day/

@@rugbymusicdepartmentWhat a wonderful programme. I wish you every success with it. I have such fond memories of my time as a cathedral chorister. If only music had an important role in every school. Music is the gift that never stops giving. And you are giving these children something very special.

Rugby School is a fee paying grammar and is lucky to enjoy the benefits of a first class music Department and chapel. Hence the quality of singing from these youngsters. I wish more could be done in the mainstream Schools as music is virtually not taught in the curriculum.

Lovely. It does remind me (though a piece I love to sing) however of the dreadful pandemic laws which were made not in my name as here these singers are forced to stand apart in the pandemic.. Later that year (2020) every wedding in the UK even without any guests attending was banned in England (unless people were dying). This was the longest wedding ban in England for Catholics since the 1500s and a gross infringement of human rights. My child was allowed a church wedding in April 2021 postponed due to continuation of the wedding ban to March 2021. We were allowed 13 guests in church only (and no reception) and in a family of singers the worst iniquity of all - the state banned any singing even in the awful masks the state forced us to wear in the church. I will never forgive and I will never forget. Yet almost everyone in the UK supported this massive breach of our rights.

I'm always glad to hear young people singing. The reverberations in that lovely setting unfortunately muddied the part singing.
