I did loaded dice on nidalee today and started the game on 2-1 with 3 star nid, 2 star lux, 2 star vlad, and 2 star skarner. It was not as strong as I thought it would be, but I still got 2nd.

At 15:52 when you hit the Varus 2, it probably would have been worth to spend the 30g to level up and put in the second Lux*2, to increase your total star level on the board to 15, which is the highest loot drop breakpoint.

Armor and magic resist dont have diminishing returns. 1 point of armor adds exactly 1% more physical durability: 100 armor means the enemy has to double their dmg in order to kill you, at 200 armor they would need triple the dmg and so on. Its linear, ppl just dont know how to do math and make the wrong assumption based on the tooltip.

Unfortunately, taking a closer look at what you said, that's a perfect example of diminishing returns. With 100 armor, you halve damage taken. However, when you add another 100 armor the damage taken does not halve again; rather, the damage taken is reduced by 66.6% total, given your statement is correct (haven't checked personally). Therefore, any subsequent instances of armor have less impact than balancing the stat gains across multiple sources. Linear damage reduction would mean that at a certain amount of armor, all physical damage would be negated. Would hardly be fair, don't you think? I believe that's the reason behind nonlinear damage reduction.

Whoops! Did some math wrong here. At 200 armor, this would be 75% phys damage reduction. Also not sure if 1 armor is equal to 1% phys durability, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt there

Here is the formula armor/(armor+100) A simpler way to understand it, armor/mr adds durability: 100 HP and 0 armor equals 100 EHP, 100 HP and 100 armor equals 200 EHP, 100 HP and 200 armor equals 300 EHP, 100 HP and 300 armor equals 400 EHP. 200 HP and 100 armor equals 400 EHP. Notice how 1 point of armor ALWAYS adds 1% durability? There's no diminishing returns. This discussion usually stays at Summoners Rift, where items are more complex and beg some questions: at which point does HP becomes more gold efficient than armor/mr? How should I itemize for this match up? If you are in college and interested in math, take some philosophy classes, they will help with abstractions.
