ok idk how you do it but I have to say it: you make these stories SO stressful but in a really good way; this is the exact feeling I was looking for but that I couldn't find. I've been listening to creepypastas for a while so I kinda got desensitized but YOU make them so stressful to me and I LOVE it, it's even better than feeling scared. that you so much for your work

There is "no end" so he's probably stuck forever as the ending reveals yet another door number

I interpreted it as the room 7, where he thought he was free, but upon entering his house, he realised he found the 8th door, and had to continue. So I guess he was made to believe he escaped, but then his front door was the 10th door, which is still within the No End House.

I think it's supposed to be "symbolic". Technically he beat it, since he tells the story in the past tense and wins the $500, not to mention everyone says 9 rooms. I think the 10 is supposed to represent his mental state and how he won't ever be the same.
