Mine and Ellie's experiences may not be an exact one-to-one, but these complicated feelings of questioning who really cares about you, of just wanting to belong when it feels like no one wants you around...

Man this song makes me want to cry -- I understand both sides of the discussion here. I can see how Ellie blames herself for her parents' sadness even though it's not her fault at all. I can see how the parents never communicated this, and never talked through what they're going through, and see the struggle of trying to keep her from seeing it. I can also see how Ellie did what she thought was best. She felt so alone and isolated because of the internalized guilt. And still to this day, not reaching out because she still doesn't want to bring them any sadness or misery. EDIT: AND THE ENDING WITH THE DAD IN THE CROWD. MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSEEEEE. This is a beautiful story Moose. You can feel the complicated emotions here and it screams 'ALL ABOARD THE FEELS TRAIN'. Thank you for a beautiful song that resonates.

Wow I think I've never cried so much from a song. You resumed 24 years of my life in this, except I never got the ending. The fact you used french was the final blow as a french person myself.
