I hadn't broken 100 in my first 2 games. I shot an 87 yesterday! I am new & I'm not great at golf - but watching your videos is so helpful about how to think when out on the course. I think getting practice time at the range is important - it's how we build consistent and repeatable swings. But I also think we gotta remember when you're playing golf it's way different to being out on the range. Thanks for the videos! You're a great coach for the mental side of the game

took about 10-15 strokes off my rounds this year and next year Im going to try to break 80. my humble tips: Read greens on approach and pitch/wedge shots and get yourself in the best putt position possible, whatever club you can hit over 200yds onto the fairway-use it when you can-we are not pros and thats ok, practice 70-120yd ball back bump and run pitch shots onto the green those save a lot of awkward distance wedge shots and look so good when you effortlessly roll one up and your buddy just chunked a full+ wedge shot (same type of shot in rough/trouble off the tee with a 4 iron can also get you right back into a hole) and really work on putter grip/set up to keep face square at impact and let the putter do the work, figure out how far you have to bring the putter back for 5ft, 10ft and 15ft and use those reference points during a round.

Getting it in play off the tee is huge, at least for me. I have solid distance for my age (61) but am very erratic with driver. But I can usually get a 3-hybrid or 3-wood in play 200-240 off the tee, or 190-ish with 5-iron on shorter par fours. That’s almost always my play unless I have a par-5 at 500 yards or under, no trouble and a wide landing area off the tee.

There are too many youtube videos about how to hit a powerful shot. They are damaging for non-competing amateur golfers. The only thing that counts for that group (which is the one I and 90% of players represents) is solid contact. We need to limit the swing to a 3 to 9. For me, anything longer results in a cold top, 15 yard grass cutter. Sound advice on videos like this!

Ok, 1st hole I hit my tee shot ob. Then hit my provisional in deep rough, punched it out to about 100 yards. Hit the 100yd shot 3 foot from the flag and missed the putt for a triple. Next 5 holes are pretty much the same except I did not have a 100yd shot. I'm 11 over par with 3 to play I actually had approach shots of 100yds on two of the last holes and hit both within 3 feet of the hole. Only made one of the putts for bogey so now at the turn I am 17 over par for a 52. I have to shoot one over on the back nine for a 90.
