I always see these plays at legend elo, and you see guys like its Axn sometimes play it out by staying in like an Ace player bozo would because the smart play (combo playing) is sometimes too obvious

second set today took me to 2999 - had 6 straight winning sets with Wiggly, annihiliape, a-slash. Thought it would be no problem, then I ended the day at 2896, heart break... Feel you on the stuck in expert.

Bro I hit a wall at 2800 and it’s pain. I feel you. Running shadow A9 and I’ve seen basti/carbink in 19/20 games. I think I just give up on legend this season now

That’s why you gotta do it during catch cup. I went from 2500 to 3050 in 3 days…of course running a very meta team, but it’s the easiest way to do it

Word of advice: running charm isn’t going to do you any favors. You’d be surprised to know how many of us might let you through if we don’t see a charmer but will do everything in our power to keep you from hitting legend running that crap

I am starting to also believe matchmaking DOES have an algorithm for 50% win rate. This comes from not only my losing streaks, but also win streaks, where it puts me against very favorable pokemon teams designed for me to win. The streaking one way or the other is stupid and doesn't make sense otherwise. And let me provide some examples. After a few solid runs recently where I won the vast majority and shot up in ranking, I started getting hard countered with my Charjabug lead by Skeledirge. Not once. But several times in a row. So I switched my lead to mantine. And instantly, I would face opponents with Charjabug lead. I decided to put in a Psyduck lead just to see at this point, to test the matchmaking. More Charjabug lead opponents that ALSO had ELECTIVIRE on their team (I had TWO water in this experiment, and it put me against TWO electric pokemon. And a rank #223 Electivire at that). As for your point that Niantic couldn't program this into their PvP, they already have this system in their "suggested" battle raid teams... it simply picks pokemon on your team that either do Super Effective damage or Resist opponents. Sorry for long post, but I needed to provide SOME real life examples of what has been happening. I am anticipating having a win streak soon to make up for the losses. I think you CAN duplicate my results, albeit you will have to sacrifice elo. But it would be worth it to confirm. Put in silly pokemon, or double of one type, and see what happens to your opponents team on average.

Skeli, lanturn and serperior. It suffers from double dragon team, but you can maniobrate even in that basti leads that you know there is a shadow vic in the back. Good luck

Hi dan! Big fan of your videos. I'm only just above 3100 this season so it's not like this is world-class advice, but a brief bit of constructive criticism about your struggles hitting legend this season taken from a brief moment in this video- At 9:32 you throw on timing which lets the aslash do the obvious play and tie you, which loses you like 3-4 mudshots of overfarm. It doesnt change the outcome of that game and you kinda play it off like it's not a big deal in your commentary, but that's a pretty big misplay as the ELO goes up and inconsistencies like that will make it tougher to hit your rank goals. I really hope this doesn't come across as patronizing, you’re a great player and l enjoy and appreciate the quality of your content! Just think you need to play a bit tighter to keep climbing at this rank.

There was an element cup last fall, but the last two little catch cups have been dominated by shuckle and smeargol, which makes it hard to access. The game messed up on your Skarmory vs. Dragonair match. It looked like a cmp tie but when you threw your sky attack, the Dragonair got at least 1 and maybe 2 dragon breaths through 15:23

Smack down going through is possible if he predicted the catch. Both players switching immediately is 0 turn meaning that fast move go through if you click charged move

Have watched your vids for years. The games gone mate, so so many on here who play every match saying 1,2,3,4 out loud counting those fast moves, always throwing on optimum timing for a game that is 60% luck, 20% skill, 20% lag. People have played the game for 8 years and still Don’t have a master league team ( as not prepared to pay silly money for a “game” where the only mechanic involves tapping a phone screen) bow out on top and go more poke ak route ( not the constant conspiracy stuff) just pure spice teams and make the content more comedic

I have hit legend in the past so not saying it is impossible but if this game was anywhere near as “skill based” as the creators make out then most of your sets would end 13-12 or 12-13. When in actual fact often you go 19-6 then the next day 9-16. So have you gone from a legend standard to a complete donut overnight? Course not lol you’ve just had a day of RPS on your side followed by a day of it being against you. The real saddos who have learned every move count, play thousands of games in their little discords practicing, before playing their actual elo battles for 90 mins a day ( plus all 100 on battle days) gain the edge they need from knowing exactly how much damage a hydro cannon does on whiscash and all that drivel so win a higher percentage of the close games and hit legend. It’s so nerdtastic that 80% of the player base cba so the 20% cruise there
