Regarding building your confidence in the bronze room, I recently hit gold thanks to your videos and riichi book 1 recommendation. When I was silver I never returned to the bronze room because of the viciousness of novice ranks. I've dealt into too many hell waits on my seat wind before. Never again.

Regarding the tsumo that was only worth 9000 points, tsumos are automatically nerfed in sanma.

It's lower because there is one less player who pays part of the sum for tsumo. A haneman is worth 3000/6000. This means in 4-player it would be 3000+3000+6000 = 12K but in 3-player it would be 3000+6000=9000.
