I use to have 11k ada. Traded it all now i have 3630 icp. Ada will be around 10 years from now but its not really going anywhere. Current price ada is a better pick amongst other mainstream options but its a pass for me

I guess I don’t like the fact that Cardano, pricewise, is pretty much at the same place, it was years ago. Most individuals, including myself, get into crypto because we are trying to invest for our future. There are those of us who have decades to wait for Cardano to bloom in price, but I’m not one of those.

Love cardano as a technology, just have concerns as an investment. For you old timers, Sybase and OS2 were excellent technology, but where r they now? Move too slowly in the tech world, and you run risk of dying. Hopefully this doesn’t happen to cardano.

Assuming you can even define what a successful crypto is. Name me a single competitor that is 'winning' over Cardano. Bitcoin has forsaken adaptability and scalability, Eth has forsaken decentralization and is still slow to adapt, Solana was never secure, Doge isn't even trying to solve any real-world problems like governance and outreach and its founder is appalled at its joke status, Toncoin sounds scammy as hell, binance isn't even proper crypto, smaller alts don't have the same unhacked and 100% uptime credibility the same genuine community backing. Cardano isn't in a race. It's running a marathon that nobody else even wants to contend in. And crypto's enemy is not other crypto, it's broken governmental systems and fiat.

Devil's advocate cause it sounds like everyone is pro ADA: "Bitcoin is the first, it does the job, and we don't need anything else." They did the same thing to Bitcoin when it was Cardano's age. It's just a matter of time. ADA/Bitcoin pairing is what I'm also watching these days.

Thanks for reiterating the values of Cardano. Cardano is built for the people. This first principle is never compromised in Cardano. No, the proof of stake system of Cardano was developed from scratch. It is very different than the proof of work system of Bitcoin.

Exactly, and that's why ppl hate it (including myself). We just want to make money, if you want "to marry" ADA, good for you go ahead. But let me do those 10X - 20X on SOL, LINK, PAAL AI, FETCH AI, so on, and so on. ADA will NOT even make you money on the next bullrun (2028), ADA is a longggg term hold, 10+ years and that's not for me. If I want to make money in 10+ years I just go to the Stock Market with TSLA, APPLE, META, or even the SPY. That would be safer and probably the same returns than ADA.

Good video Dawson. Keep 'em comin. Maybe a video on international holdings of Cardano. Most YT and X content is US centric. I believe the appeal of ADA is more appreciated globally. Recently read NYT best seller "Plutocrats" where global appeal is key. Firmly believe that governance actions are proving that there is a healthy appetite for Cardano.

I dislike the negative misinformation and unfair media coverage about Cardano. I also dislike how ADA - which has actual real world utility - is up 21% in a year, but PEPE which has zero utility is up 614%. I continue to add ADA to my holdings even though the price of ADA can retrace to 0.21 by end of fall 2024. ☕️

I have no issue locking. Im long haul. I currently have 1800 icp locked for 2 years dissolving (by unlock time ill acculmate a total of 2052 icp at unlock. And 1750 locked 8 years not dissolving. Just daily staking rewards im acculmating about 1.3 icp daily. If youre long term investor its not a big deal at all

Yes I see IA comparing his key metrics on weekly basis and Cardano scores low on many metrics such as number of developers, volume, number of new projects, market cap, number of wallets, distance from All Time High, etc etc

I don't trust IA because he is dishonest. For example he said that Cardano has a tps of 7. Then in the next sentence he says something to the effect of "Cardano people tell me Cardano doesn't use TPS, yea, I know that but-" So why did he bring up tps? were did he get the 7 from? And why did he conclude with "but what about adoption?" as if that excuses his lie about using the wrong metrics to measure tps? Everything he says is suspect now because I've caught him in a lie.

I own a nice sized bag of Cardano. Cardano will always be second best to Bitcoin for 1 reason: Satoshi went away. By going away, they created a legendary myth surrounding the coin... Charles, on the other hand, doesnt go away. He will always be associated as the founder. He alienates people constantly with politics, bad faith arguments, and poor behavior. Even with Chang going live, Charles is still the Founder and has significant say with his personal holdings AND IOHK's. Charles is a liabilty. That creates a ceiling.
