Yes! Love this. As a recovering people pleaser in my younger days, I say you are damned if you do and damned if you don’t. I had haters when I did what exactly what everyone wanted for the dumbest reasons. Down to haters not liking that I dressed “too nice” for work🙄. And of course, when I went against the status quo, I felt the backlash almost immediately. So I just strive to do what aligns with me, my values, and what makes me content and just leave it at that. Honestly, knowing that I will have haters no matter what I do motivates me to just do what I want and how I want it. Oh and to all the recovering people pleasers out there, please don’t let society make you feel like something is wrong with you. I didn’t become this super confident girl who doesn’t care what anyone thinks! Lol. Nope, I still care. At my core I still want everyone to be happy with things that I do because that’s my natural mindset. I love harmony. Difference now is that I may feel hurt and it stings when people don’t agree or hate on me, but I just force myself to push past the feelings and continue to do what I need to do to live my most authentic life.

I was always a people pleaser probably until my mid 20’s and now at 27 I’m finally able to say I’ve overcome that. I’m still all for making people happy when it’s not to the determent of myself. If I can do it sure. But if it hurts me? Sorry I won’t hurt myself to help you and a real friend or someone who loves you wouldn’t ask that of you or will accept when you say no. Self love is self preservation. I feel some of people pleasing comes from feeling a need to prove your worth to others. But I don’t need to sacrifice myself or prove im worthy of love. We are all inherently worthy of love the second we come to this earth. No one is owed that.

I am living my best life. There are going to be people who are going to want to see you go down, or break. These ugly kind of people are the ones that make me say" Watch me". They make me more motivated to do more. I love Tamera's attitude and Jeannie's outlook. It's called jealousy.
