I relate to Cinderella, saddest part is I can't resonate with my situation because it was my biological family. Dysfunctionality only eased a bit in this few years.

I'm so sorry for you. But don't worry, things will get better.

I'm so glad you explane that it is not always the case, that children who suffered abuse always abuse their own, because they should have not known any other "love". I was a badly abused child myself and I never laid a hand on my sons. I was always afraid to discipline my children. Afraid to make the same mistake as my parents. So, They saw me as a kind of a friend instead of a parent, wich is not good eighter. What you just told us is no shock to me. You really got the point! Well said!!!

Thank you. I tried my best to be as understanding and well-rounded regarding the situation as possible, and it's nice to know that I succeeded in that regard. But I'm so sorry to hear that you had to go through that in your childhood. If it's any consolation, based off the little you just told me, even with all your mistakes you're still a much better parent than you're parent's were because you didn't make the same mistakes as them. I just want you to know that.

@@moviemadness2536 Thank you so much! You're a darling! I can tell you that I was very insecure being a parent. But I know my kids do love me, so, ... I did the best I can.

Not all Disney movies are relatable.

Well, this is one case where you DON'T want to find it relatable, but unfortunately way too many people do.
