BRUHHH I WAS THE ONE WHO SENT THE TROPHY WHEN I WAS YOUNGER IM SO TOUCHED Edit: This just happened to be in my recommended. I honestly thought for years that my letter and trophy didn’t make it and was probably sent to a random guy if I had the address wrong. I remember it so vividly. The trophy (plastic, courtesy of party city) was a little cracked and I had to cover it with tape 😅. I had terrible handwriting on it and even did a little doodle for him. AND yeS I put 1 in front of the hashtag! I know where it belongs shhhh. (Although I do have dementia to my early days sometimes and the letter he is holding may not correspond to the trophy. I’m just assuming because I know my writing was dogpoopy. The trophy is accurate though unless I’m not the only one who sent him one with crappy handwriting on it :P) My dad had helped me get it to the post office, and was kind enough to pay for packaging. I am just glad that the creator of my favorite cartoon growing up has the heart to not only keep the trophy, but also everyone’s mail. He is truly 1# best human being on the earth: Alex Hirsch. Well, along with my dad and few close to me :’). More edit: Wasn't gonna say anything but this reply section is wild lol. Please refrain from harassing people even if it's a joke. I fuckin love Alex Hirsch. I've come back to Gravity Falls and BTS of this and this dude is just great. Being in the same field as him, I feel nothing but inspiration and joy watching how he talks about his work, his fans, and the relationships he's built. I don't give a shit about his relations with Justin Roiland, I think he's still an inspiration and a good ass dude to his fans and especially his own work.

Gravity Falls has had a big influence on the tourist traps it was inspired by. Recently, Confusion Hill in Northern California (home of the Bill Cipher statue from Cipher Hunt) was at risk of shutting down due to COVID. One tweet by Alex Hirsch later, and the fans had donated enough money to keep the place open and help the owners get important repairs done. I'm not innocent in the fact that I criticize the GF fandom for many things it's done that I disagree with. However, this was one of those times where the fandom really showed off its good side.

There is a rumor that Alex has actually read that fic, or at least knows it exists. There is no obvious proof of that, but the only evidence to back it is that in one of the Gravity Falls games made for Disney websites called "PinesQuest," (ironic title given it sounds similar to that cursed ship), there exists a taco item whose description says: "You don't want to know what it's made of." Other than that it's an urban legend.
