as a 47 year old pc gamer and console gamer , id say the choice is really based on budget. pc will cost a lot more than a console. you'll be happy with either but whats your budget thats the real qustion to ask

Im a PC gamer and I literally just bought a digital Xbox series x a couple days ago. I have been enjoying the simplicity and speed of it tbh. It just nice to kick back on the couch or bed and game on a big 4k TV with no cables or keyboard. The good thing about consoles is everything is streamlined and optimized to just game. The PC wins in raw power(if you got the money to pay for it) and its ability to do so much other stuff though.

I’m 60 year old and have the money to spend. I like playing games. I have no interest in giving corporations thousands of monies. I am happy giving them small amounts as and when they provide me value for money. If the games are fun and enjoyable to play I don’t give a fuck what the FPS is. I play my games about 10 feet from my large screen TV. I do not play my games at 4X magnification. There are enough games on Xbox to last me the rest of my life, I don’t need to play every game ever created. I’m not even joking just enjoy gaming😁

I have a series x and a ps4. We are getting to a point where differences are getting really small in performance. I can still play ps4 games and be satisfied. Even if it doesn't have high fps or ray tracing. I'm still having fun. I don't see the pointnin upgrading anymore. I'll keep using my series x until next gen only games come out next gen.

I was a long time console gamer for over 30 years. What finally pushed me over to PC is native 4K/60+. Consoles just can't deliver that yet and likely won't for years to come. I was also sick of having to pay for online access. That is bullshit and I finally became sick of it. I also didn't like being locked into the console store. There is no competition on console driving game prices down so you are forced to pay what they make you pay. On PC there are many stores you can get your games from so that equates to competition and cheaper game sales. Also, the mod support for games on PC is amazing. It literally breaths new life into games that I would normally grow bored of. Modding is awesome and a total game changer. I will never go back to console. Playing at native 4K at 60+ fps is an experience that a lot of console gamers just don't know about. Once you experience that on a large screen there is no going back.

Last console i ever had was a ps2, after that i went to pc even when i didnt have a gaming one. I played games 15 fps - 20 fps on a fairly bad pc in online shooters and had fun from petty browser made games back then... to AAA titles on steam and other launchers.

I game on both. I got 3 series x and 3 ps5. I got 5 desktop pc’s 2,gaming laptops, a switch lite, and steam deck. I’m good on the ps5 pro. It’s not a big enough leap and no disk drive. Console has it advantages and pc has it advantages. I feel like when pc gets a quick resume feature; the it will be the hands down winner.

Just hit 40. Nah, I am good with my PS5. I turn her on and she plays on my 55in TV. Simplicity beats PC headaches for me. I will be getting the PS5 PRO later. Its only gonna cost me 400 with Trade in anyways.

Even buying a high end PC you can shop smart, I build 7800x3D/4070ti for just under 1500 in Mar 24 and bought a pre built mini ITX i5/ 7900xtx for 1850 in Aug 23.

If you don't want to deal with part swapping,building PCs and troubleshooting errors then PC gaming isn't for you. If you just want ease of play stay console get a series x and wait for the mid gen refresh.

This ease argument is over blown. I have not had to do a single ounce of troubleshooting since building my PC almost a year ago. I can't imagine dealing with all the console BS just so I don't have to install drivers now and again.

@@De1usionsofGrandeur To name a few; paying a monthly fee so I can access online content. Poor/non existent mouse/keyboard support. Poor FPS/Performance, worse sales on games (the majority of my games I get at 60%+ off as unless it's MP I don't care about day 1). Worse access to games. Having to deal with whatever garbage Sony/MS feeds you. Way worse modding support for pretty much everything compared to PC I could probably come up with more. But this I feel is enough. I was a console gamer before moving away to PC. I can't think of an argument for console gaming aside from exclusives and simply not being able to afford a proper PC.

@@mattparsons8598 ok so you prefer pc..all good. I happen to prefer console.. I am fine with playing games with a controller.. I also am not a frame junkie so having games not be super high frames doesn't bother me.. I can even get day one games on sale thanks to gamepass.. with some games as low a few bucks but sony is being sued for their store practices. I havent been a playstation owner since the start of this gen so not sure how things are on it now.

I stare at a computer screen at work all day. Not a chance in hell will I continue to stare at my own personal computer screen in the evening just to play a game. I don’t care if the graphics are 1,000x better, nothing replaces relaxing on a couch and playing on a console in front of a TV.

Why can't it run rdr2 at 60fps? It's only been 4 consoles later right. When you can run a 2011 game arkham city at 100fps or 4k 60..come and talk to us. If that happens then I'll ask you to come back when you can run ultra settings and path tracing. If you can mod and run emulation on basically every console. Until then...it's a good console that really isn't in the league with a mid level pc.

Hold on your the one saying this pro is better than high end come on lol. Yes you do get gta6 first, but im happy to wait for the pc version esp if its 60fps. Still like Xbox BUT their stance against Beautiful female characters and ever increasing censorship pushed me over the edge to finally build a PC. Now I can use mods to Fix games and outright remove the BS from games. I spent $500 on XSX and $150 for a 1TB card. There's great value for the console but the card is a total rip-off. Given I just got 4TB in my PC for $245 combined. that's Xbox/MS loss as I won't give them money anymore and instead will go to GOG and Steam and of course some to MS when I do happen to buy an MS studio game

Now sony is the only console company, since xbox is just making games now that gives sony too much power. Nintendo will never compete with sony power wise , so pc is the only good option to counter tbe evil sony corporation. Plus it never hurts to have a back up platform to game on. All it takes for you to loose all your games is for sony to decide to stop doing consoles. Never put all your eggs in 1 basket. I have a series s as a back up machine if my ps5 breaks. Now i have a pc i am picking up some great deals on older games.

Yeah PC players think this is some big win lol. Its $6 a month and you get 3 games per month and extra discounts on games you buy. You do get free games on EPIC, but they are not nearly as good as the PS games, most are not worth downloading tbh!
