Two other things you could have tested. 1) Take another character to the church to see if they behave the same to prove or disprove the "not enough room" angle. 2) Take the vampire back outside to see if he would move again.

He wouldn't have because he got knocked out from hitting his head. He took so much fall damage from being dropped multiple times that the last drop that "killed" him just knocked him out. It's why the reticle turned red when you aim at him. That only happens if what you're aiming at is alive.

He was unconscious when you threw him down on the church floor, that's why your reticule was red, it does the same thing if you knock someone out in a fight. If you put a KO'd person on the back of your horse they will wake up after a few seconds.

It’s not the church it’s how you dropped him. Npcs in the game will become unconscious if they are not resting perfectly on the floor. In this scenario his head was elevated and there wasn’t room for him to sit and wriggle on the floor like tied npcs do so he got knocked out If you don’t believe me try it place a tied npc in an area they cannot move very well in and watch as the suddenly become unconscious THEEERE

The tiny church is based on Point Pleasant, LA's 'Chapel of the Madonna' Built in 1903, it was created by an Italian who's son had fallen gravely ill and he prayed to the Mother Mary that if his son recovered, he would build a Church. Writing this one off as an urban (old western) legend. Doesn't die automatically in the tiny church in the PC version. Threw him in on the first try by running towards the door before throwing.
