I am probably old enough to be your grandmother, 63, but I watch you the most because of your knowledge of the products. Giving pros and cons and testing the products yourself you know what you are talking about. I very rarely trust an influencers thoughts and opinions, but so far when I have purchased a product you recommend I am never disappointed. I am lucky for being 63 I have no crows feet ( wear good sunglasses constantly so I am not squirming my eyes). I was a sun worshipper but you would never know it. I did attend cosmetology school and back then my license listed me as a facialist. Times have really changed. Thank you so very much for your extremely informative videos. These are the best ones that women and men of any age will benefit from. ❤❤

I feel like most things that say "blurring" or "long wear" are going to be better suited for oily skin because they have less emollient ingredients in order to stay put or blur out the skin. "Radiant" or "glowing" generally work better for dry skin. Morgan is absolutely right though. Skin prep is everything. You can make a lot of different formulas work if you prep accordingly. Makeup is not going to cure your skin issues. You have to take care of the skin underneath.

I have the extremely dry skin and live in the driest state, and the DM blurring balm powder is my new HG complexion product- I use it with a damp sponge and my face looks unreal with it- blurring, perfected and lasts all day. Im obsessed! I don’t think it works as well with a brush and maybe you did it on purpose for the video but it seemed like you applied a lot. Prep your skin and then try it with a damp sponge, layering it until you get the coverage you want. I think you’ll change your mind

Glad I saw this because I was sitting and waiting on reviews for the new Hourglass powder. The "matte" made me nervous... because I'm over 50 with dry skin. That said, I did my research and bought the Pat McGrath blurring under eye setting powder and repurchased the Nars Light Reflecting pressed powder... which is blurring. I love the One Size powder, primer (original), and setting spray (original). As someone who has had oily skin my whole life, I wish they had been around when I was younger (or even my 40s). I’m glad they are available now. Morgan is right that these products are holy grail status for me. I still have a very oily t-zone with normal skin on the perimeter of my face. Now that I’m in my 60s, I have to be careful setting my under eyes with powder. The only ones that work there are Givenchy, Pat McGrath, and Hourglass loose setting powder. I am waiting for the new Hourglass pressed powder to arrive. It looks like it will work for my skin type. Also my current foundations for all day wear with a matte finish are Dior Forever, Estée Lauder DW, and Hourglass Ambient Light foundation. Most people use full coverage foundations in the winter but I do the opposite because of my oily skin type. I’m extremely oily in the summer and drier in the winter.

i also have dry skin and i thought maybe you have some tips/advice on application or something 🫠 i have with foundations... i always prep my skin with the same products that work for but no matter what foundation i use it looks horribly dry on my nose (example from the video, you can see it really well on the pressed powder application demos) and i tried so many different products and techniques and unfortunately nothing worked so i usually just put the tiniest amount of foundation that left on the sponge, brush on my nose really carefully barely touching it just to make it even with the rest of the face 🫤

oily skin girl - the danessa myricks yummy skin is hard core. I got the wrong colour so I'm using it as a primer on my T zone over a hydrating liquid primer for the rest of my skin. Lightweight foundation looks great over it and while I've spent a lifetime with powder in my bag for touchups I don't need it. And if your face eats blush like mine the flushed balm powders are life changing (although incredibly pigmented so tread carefully)

I regret my Huda powder; I love my loose powder, but it’s drying & glittery. By the way: I have oily-combo skin (dry & oily under my eye). It literally shows every pore on my forehead-it is only nice AFTER you set everything & you want a touch of brightness under the eye.

I’ve been using tretinoin since November and my skin has definitely changed. I used to have oily combo skin and now it’s definitely dry. I can confirm the Huda Beauty, Givenchy, Laura Mercier ultra blurring loose setting powders work amazing with dry skin! I’m giving away my One Size setting spray because it dries out my skin so much. Also I have trouble with the Nars Light Reflecting foundation. It clings to and emphasizes my dry spots. It’s a very finicky foundation. Haus labs foundation has been so good to my skin & I did NOT like it when my skin used to be oily. For concealer, Nars radiant creamy, Givenchy and Pat McGrath have worked really well. Surprisingly, Natasha Denona hy-glam concealer always looked horrible on me and emphasized the dry patches around my eyes. Edit: typos

I have dry/ dehydrated skin. But I do sweat super easy .I love the O/S powder. However, I don’t use an all over face setting powders. And I’ll usually add cream highlighter or even cream blush after powdering to take away dry texture. It is bit drying but i find majority of powders to be that way. If not they don’t last long. It’s bomb under my eyes /tzone. And doesn’t look crazy when I add cream/liquids on top. I wore it on my wedding day the photos were soooo smooth and perfect.
