Esther you are never missing out on anything by skipping alcohol or doing drugs or doing both. So many young people destroy their lives and their health. Excess alcohol and drugs leads to addiction, which once it settles in will be something a person has to battle with their whole life. Excess consumption of alcohol and drugs leads to diseases like breast, lung and brain cancers. I stopped drinking when I was 26 because I had a blood disorder called Gilbert's Syndrome. My body produced too much bilirubin, 4xs as much as a regular person. Bilirubin has to be broken down by the liver. Alcohol has to be broken down by the liver. My poor liver was working triple overtime when I was drinking. I had pain in my liver and my kidneys. People continued to pressure me to drink and do drugs after I stopped but I couldn't be pressured and I have never looked back. I am much happier than all the people who drank all of their lives.
