The 2018 King Salman FIDE World Rapid Championship is a 15-round Swiss open taking place in St. Petersburg, Russia from 26-28 December. The prize fund is $350,000, with $60,000 for 1st place. The time control is 15 minutes per player for all moves, with a 10-second increment from move 1. If there is a tie for 1st place, the top two players will compete in a play-off match consisting of two 3+2 blitz games.
If the score is still level, the players play a sudden death or Armageddon game. The player who wins the drawing of lots may choose the color. The player with the white pieces gets 5 minutes to Black's 4 (with a 2-second increment after move 60), but a draw counts as a win for Black. Official website: wrbc2018.com/en

Agad said" feel free to pause the video and find the move svidler missed", while the move was to be found for black. It makes complete sense when heard with a sentence before. But in itself this is inaccurate. Anyways keep up your great work agad. Lots of love from India.

concerning that remark about "losing with style" and the effect it has to promote chess - this should be somehow built into the "chess etiquette", let your opponent to show his excellent idea rather than immediately resign (OK, not really necessary to play always until the checkmate, but at least few moves)

Many thanks for your videos! If you are interested in pronouncing russian surnames by the right way, I'm happy to give some help: Matlakóv, Opárin, Kar'ákin (he is actually Карякин, and a russian letter «я» here means just the sound «a» with making the «р» before it soft, and it's supposed to be a hard «r» in English if you write «Karakin» without «j» which doesn't actually exist).

Maybe only 1/4 of a point for a draw would be better for chess viewership. The risk/reward of going for a win obviously isn't incentive enough to promote chess the way it is meant to be played, for the win.
