I am 32 years old. Almost 33. Ok shape. Working on 18 lbs to loose. Already lost 52 lbs. But it is a deep in my gut passion. And life has finally gave me the chance. What advice would you have for me to prepare. And not be the one always behind. I have broke both my arms. But have full use and i am ready for the hard work and to make my dream a reality

@@nelsonmongare5484 If you get a decent score on the ASVAB, consider doing the smart thing and joining chair force instead of joining us in the army. The longer basic training, more restrictive AIT, being out in the field for weeks without showering, the infantry gear, the ridiculous PT, the motor pool, the longer time in the barracks if you're not married, the longer shittier deployments, etc. are all not worth it when you realize that people in other branches like the chair force get paid the same money for rank without killing themselves like we in the army do. Not to mention that even though they can't guarantee their job like we can before basic, their jobs are a lot more translatable to civilian than most of our jobs. Work smarter, not harder.

Basic training is really easy. It's only that one person that makes it hard for everyone. It sucks but it's really fun. I never knew I could laugh so damn hard till I got to basic. Everyone is straight up a clown.

@@devicraft3230 fantastic experience. I deployed shortly after training and met some of the best people. Joined rotc after the deployment and I’m currently on spring break with two of my best buds from rotc. Highly recommend this path :)

At fort Jackson, you have to wear their New Balance shoes but at AIT you can wear your own.
