I think this game needs like 2 or 3 playthroughs just walking in different directions each time cause there's a fair few landmarks you's didn't see, hell that gas station and that little spaceship are things I haven't seen in 2 other people's playthroughs. Some other landmarks I've seen are like a barn, an old dilapidated house and a massive beached ship.

Randomize the scares, never repeat them in a single session. Make them less frequent also, too many too soon isn't scary. Space them 2 minutes apart, but make them REALLY good. That first scare was the best one because of that, you were moving around for a bit, found something, then suddenly you turn around and something rushes you.

I personally would love if something stalked and/or followed you. You never know whene it's gonna scare you, or if it even does. It can peek from around corners or be stationed in the distance watching your every move. I love how this game keeps you on edge, but like you said it needs to be REALLY good. the first scare got me instantly, the others started to fall short.

I think one interesting thing the game could add is to not make the scares pop up the same way twice. Like when they find the first tape recorder and encounter the scare but when they reload and got to the tape again, there is no scare, so you never can truly get a pattern so the same scare rarely happens in the same place

Its a fine line that they'll have to tune to make it so you aren't just punished for being scared in a horror game, or else id see myself just stonefaced with frustration sprinting to each trigger for a scare and have to trial and error your way through, crossing a decibel threshold = instant death could use a bit more nuance too like; what if screaming changed the stories outcome or scenarios along the way rather than just booting you back to the title screen

I feel like they should add the ability for things to effect you, even if you don’t scream. The world presents no danger if you don’t react which means you are in full control. For example IMO if you make sound in the game or if something is making sound near you(the tapes for example), that should also trigger a death. All of a sudden you have a reason to not just walk in a straight line for an hour to get around the screaming issue.

I agree with adding sounds. I have sensitive hearing, and I’ve found out even if what’s on the scream is ridiculous that a sudden loud noise will make me jump. I watched some crappy low budget scary movie with my friend as a kid, don’t remember what, but they showed some clip art looking shadows in a dark room and it suddenly went from quiet to really loud. Needless to say the clip art editing looked stupid, but the noise…boy the noise made me jump.
