If you slip, learn to twist around& set your ice axe. You have to PRACTICE this, many times, BEFORE you put yourself into that sitch. Another thing. Me & the Wolf were in the Evolution range one August, wise enough NOT to posthole through snow in PM, instead camping . early morning you can chip your steps in snow that will sink you to your hips in PM. We have noted people rushing down, and in AM found their suffering postholes, easily glissading or supported where they had led the Gulag life. (Though i traversed someglacier elsewhere above six foot or more drops into cold tarns which give NO chance to get out - think floating corpsicle - i DO recommend suitable spikes & learning all the cute lil ice axy things.)

@victorkonstantin Жыл бұрын
@@codyandvictoriaHi Cody. I also think that it would have been a proper way to navigate that snow patch with an ice axe and at least a pair of 10 point crampons. There is no way to arrest a slip and fall with trekking poles. But I also belive that it is up to each person to choose how safe or less safe they want to make their outdoors adventures. Aside of that, the video footage and the approach to the base of the climb and the climb itself were a blast to watch. You are an amazing talented couple. A joy to watch. 😊👍

You can rap with a grigri using a carabiner block and other methods. We could also simul rap
@1stWolverine Жыл бұрын
@@codyandvictoria downside to those methods is the rope tends to get stuck more when pulling them. Simul repelling works if the two people are tethered together, or the ends will not be the same length. Lots of problems, just have to work through them. As with anything in life.
