That hinge is called a Rising Butt Hinge. Very common in UK. Lifts the door off the carpet as it opens and uses gravity to close the door.

Those battery packs are a great handy job, I bought one for my car and one for my wife's car, they both have the engine stop/start and those type of batteries have a nasty habit of suddenly going flat, wife has had to use hers once which saved me having to go out to rescue her, real handy and take up no space in the car boot.

The thermal imaging camera are great. Just a small thing to note is that if you try to measure something very shiny, like clean metal shiny metal, it’s not an accurate number. If you put some or something on the surface and let it heat up, you can get an accurate measurement. But of course works if you don’t need an accurate measurement it’s fine without the tape.

What those hinges are for is to make a self~closing door. The weight of the door causes it to slide down thw hinge and close because of the slant.

Wish I was a accomplished at odd jobs as you are I've been electrician for over 30 years now I'm a maintenance technician where I work repairing machines for tire recapping production for mostly tractor trailer truck tires and trailer tires. So lots of air and electrical. I'm now just figuring out how to weld never been taught so I'm learning quick by messing up and then redoing the job until I get good welds. Thank you for your videos you teach very well and have good knowledge of what your working on. God Bless

Mr. Morris, Sir, great brain and a great pair of hands. Well done. I enjoy that you are solution minded, no problems just solutions, lets get on with it. Cold ears . . . add wool hats to your merch and when you are at it, why don't you source a hard hat with a washable fleece in-lay with a head-lamp and a built in FM radio . . . you get the idea or source something you would use, find useful, brand it ifarm wefarm and add to your merch. The power unit seems ideal and if I needed one I'd get that brand on your recommendation, no second thought. Your standards are such a great bench-mark for other farmers. Your attention to detail and safety awareness are superb. P.S. In the computer game, there is a saying; "RTFM", Read the feckin' Manual. Are there manuals available on-line from manufacturers for all the models they release. Continued success.

The idea of that hinge is if you have a matching other half, the door will close itself. It’ll lift the door as you said a small bit, but gravity will pull the door down, and will turn the door closed due to the cut.

Just an idea, but the pin you removed to take off the rams. Get a 1 or 2mm hole drilled down the centre of them and a little hole in the centre hinge point. And a bigger hole on the outside to take a grease nipple and you can get grease in to exactly where it's needed.

21:44 Hi Adrian, its polycarbonate (tradename Lexan) as opposed to Perspex whick is Acrylic. I used it on a Massey 860 digger door as a slight bend in the frame kept breaking the glass. It was about €110 vs the glass at €150. It doesn't break or yellow but it has gone a bit cloudy. I'd use glass if you can get it and can be sure it wont break.

As always, work done professionally and properly. I salute Adrian for taking the time to ensure that the lights are not only legal, but in good working order also. I can't speak for all regions and countries, but I grew up in an area where if lights on agricultural equipment broke, they very rarely ever got fixed. My own family farm being no exception. I never understood it then and don't understand it now. True enough, in those days, the police would look the other way on the back roads and nothing was ever said. These days, you are asking for legal trouble (traffic offenses), but more than that, having working lights just makes things all the more easier and that is the part or self-induced trouble that I never could understand. The amount of times that I heard 'the tractor doesn't have lights so we have to wait until tomorrow' is ridiculous and that had nothing to do with travelling on the public roads.

I notice that there looks to be two mounting points for the tilt rams. I've often seen that on lift rams so that you can get different height or breakout force but I don't really see what the purpose of these might be. Those front light/indicator units were original on some Masseys during the 70's , I bet there are lads would be interested in those as they look in ok condition if given a quick scrub.

Great video, enjoying watching the progress, something I do when filling in drill hole with the welder put a brass hammer head behind the hole it makes it so easy to fill in, I liked the light mounts very clean and tidy, great hobby for you Adrian, my welder had that stutter problem fitted a new liner that sorted it but they can stutter a little when outside the wind blows the gas away, another fault can be the wire being dirty you can get a small cleaner that fits over your wire inside the machine just before the drive motor, you might already have thought of those things, any way very enjoyable video, good luck to you and the family
