It could be all the times he gets frustrated or angry are edited out but you certainly get the impression Adrian is a very patient man. He has a wonderful, warm, fatherly way of explaining what he’s doing and I think that’s much of the charm of the videos for me, despite being in my late 50s. The joy of editing also makes it look like he can fix anything in 10 minutes or less but my husband would envy him his well equipped and well organised workshop, even if it is dark.

@@suew9248 I get all the frustrated moments everyone gets, editing definitely leaves it a bit calmer 😀. But after some good advise I have learnt to have more patience as i’ve gotten older for sure, often putting down tools when something tests me and having a tea break or waiting to the next day before resuming, best advice i every got. I still throw the odd hissy fit now and again 😬😉

I find it the very same Adrian in my own workshop it could be a bolt or part that just fights and fights to try and open or a daunting task…just leave it and come back the next day after a bit of thinking I find it cures the dilemma and you can carry on then, much like a philosophy for life 😄👍🏼

I love fault finding and fixing . When I was married I was always surprised how unpractical my husband was and it was hard to try not to quickly step in . I wish I had stopped him trying to put a shelf up for me and I did shout no when he didn’t take the raw plug out when he wanted to drill the hole bigger . He blew all the plaster and blamed the age of the damned house and walked away . I waited until he was away working ,the downfall of our marriage, and I did a skim and fill then put the shelf up myself and didn’t say anything. My parents were very practical and mum said there are no separate male or female set of instructions . Everything comes with instructions so there’s no reason not to or ask at least you’ve tried . I love watching your videos for just days like this and your banter . Happy Hogmanay Adrian to you and your family . I know how hard this festive season is for you and if I could give you a hug I would . ❤

What a great positive attitude despite what you and your family are going through with the recent loss of your dad. The reason your channel is doing so well is the fact you can tackle so many different jobs and you show it all ( even the mistakes ). You really seem to enjoy making your videos too which adds to this. I watched others recently almost giving out that people weren’t watching as much and adding they “need the money” to pay bills or build something! Same channels are poisoned with advertising/sponsorships. Thanks for keeping things real and not falling down that worm hole as you and your family are a joy to watch.

Hi Adrian, about the workshop. If you put felt under the sheeting don’t use the new type breathable felt. Use the old type slaters felt. Stretch out chicken wire on the timber purlins first then your felt and sheeting then. Keep up the great work with the videos.

Good job on finding the issue with the lights on the tractor! I had an issue where my trailer left side winker light wasn't coming on about a month ago. Took me ages to find that the connector in the light cluster had come loose. How it had come loose, I do not know, but loose it was. It was an easy fix but being a complete electrical ignoramus, it reminded me how much I dislike electrical problems. On a different note, I really like how you use the local place names when you speak. I'm none the wiser from hearing those place names, but it does make the 'conversation' between you and we the viewers feel a lot more natural. For privacy, security and common sense reasons, there is obviously a limit to how local you can go in identifying places, but you somehow manage to successfully strike the balance. I wish you and your family a happy new year.

I’m a great believer in insulation in a workshop. Especially if you have expensive tools. My old workshop was insulated, my new one does not (for now) and it gets below zero in the winter. Tools have surface rust plus other problems….. . Insulated roof plus the walls if you can and add a 5C heater to keep it above freezing in the winter.

Hi Have a garden business and have the same problem with lawn mowers. Have found even when you turn the petrol off there is a little bit left in the pipe between the tap and carb which will drain through the carb .To overcome this we switch the fuel off before we finish and let it run till it stops. Have found for us it has sorted the problem.

Board the workshop with plywood, the condensation is being caused by the shed inside being warmer than the tin and outside temperature and condensation forming, I had the problem for years in workshops on farms. Putting a 19mm ply wooden flat roof on and felting it will make the problem go away, you would get a good 10 to 15 years out of a good felt roof, then when its about done you can paint it with epoxy to make it last even longer. Depends on the wind where you are, felt roofs love disappearing in storms, tin roofs are a tad more secure.

No it only blew afterwards when I put all back together the first time, i think the shaking of me working on it just moved that relay and it grounded out. That relay was obviously added at some point. Yes totally agree on the Tetanus jabs, and they’re only good for 10 years i was told so definitely something i won’t miss again especially when your at this sort of work like you said 👍

Ah, electrical problems will test anyone's patience and can take so much time - it was interesting to see how you did your troubleshooting and to see everything behind those access panels. I think I would have been stomping around and using inappropriate words in about 2 minutes! 😊 It's looking like a very cold and dreary time in your area and I hope you and your family keep your spirits bolstered with all the stress and grief of the last few months. Kind of ominous to hear you had more to deal with right at Christmas, and then with getting injured. Very glad you had your leg looked after and got your booster. If you wait for later for another video, I wish you and your family a peaceful New Year's Eve, and that 2025 will hold happiness and peace for all of you in at least equal measure to anything else as the year progresses. All the best to you and the family from here in Summerville, South Carolina. ❤🚜❤🐄❤

My double garage had an uninsulated steel roof like yours. I had the roof sprayed and it's one of the best decisions I have ever made. It was mid August and very hot. I had to shift all my tools etc so they were put in the inspection pit. On the day that the spraying was done it was so hot that I was down to my underpants under my overalls sweeping off the cobwebs. 2 hours later the job was complete. Going back into the garage afterwards was almost like walking into a fridge. The garage used to be like an oven in the summer and used to run with condensation in the winter. No more rusting tools and much better to work in both summer and winter. there was a roof light and I "double glazed" that with a polycarbonate sheet

Spray on insulation is 💯%. I have it on my own workshop for twenty years now. I would put a skylight in that roof when your doing it, you can then put flat perspex up against it when doing spray foam, serves as a break to eliminate the condensation. Hard to beat natural light.

Your method of testing brake lights is much more technical than mine, I turn ignition on then wedge a bit of wood between the brake pedals and steering wheel and walk round the back of tractor to check. Are all of the bulbs on dash panel working? If not, with all of those panels removed , would have been a good time to replace those that are not working. The 1.2V push in bulbs are very sensitive and should not be held with bare hands.
