thank you Petru, these basic, slow pace videos you are posting here on YT are gold to those learning BBIM (or just curious to see its potential)

Thank you, happy you found this useful! If you have any feedback for BlenderBIM, just create an issue on Git Hub. Thank you for that too!

Thanks for this awesome showcase! I've tried using the "Patch" tool before, but only ended up with various python errors during execution. I consider that my lack of programming knowledge, but anyway my question is different. Is there a limitation on how many element categories can we export at a time? I had a project in the past where I had to separate a building in levels and after that extract only the architectural model without any furniture or MEP systems and elements. At the time I tested IFCToolbox, but unfortunately the output IFC wasn't recognized by our internal tools. In the end I used SimpleBIMs free trial to achieve my goals. Do you think this is possible with medium to large buildings via the "Patcher" tool in a timely matter? PS: I'll do my own testing and come back here with results.

Give it a go and report the issue you encounter. Then let's try to see how can we overcome them :)

@@BIMvoice Thanks for the quick response! Fortunately I didn’t receive any errors this time. What I didn’t understand before was the input/output ifc variables. Anyway, since I wrote my comment I initiated a SplitByBuildingStorey of a 300+MB ifc file without loading it from memory, but specifying its directory. Good news is it didn’t return any errors when I initiated the IFCPatch. Bad news is that it is still loading. I’ll add my result when I get it. Do you have any tips to quickly reduce the file size before initiating such procedures?

@@Avesa92 try with a smaller model and see if it works at all. If it doesn't please create an issue on Github. I'll try to make some content around this in the upcoming weeks.
