To support universal and affordable broadband access in Africa, IFC has partnered with Liquid Intelligent Technologies to expand data center capacity and the rollout of fiber-optic cable on the continent. IFC’s Managing Director Makhtar Diop sits down with Liquid Intelligent Technologies Executive Chairman and Founder Strive Masiyiwa to discuss this partnership and digitalization in Africa.

Coming from 🇰🇪 well no doubt this is a great investment and I like the fact that Econet DC's are NetZero working in collaboration with Tesla Energy. Given that Tesla's SpaceX - StarLink project is slowly taking shape and Amazon's project Kuiper launching soon; these will be a game changer in providing internet to the whole globe (esp. so in the far flang rural areas), I'm just wondering whether it's viable/practical to continue laying terrestrial cable or invest in this new tech low latency satellite connectivity that is set to revolutionalize the World?
