I agree with @georgeswanson7937, mine is a 2007 and I just love it. It's simple and at the same time sophisticated, have some old crap (nav unit) which I don't use, lovely manual gear box, a gem of an engine, perfect weight distribution, a chassis stiffer than most and looks beyond compare. Nothing is ever 100%, but this one ticks all my boxes and retirement is a long way off.

The comment about the expensive leather dashboard sections coming from the UK is bollocks! ANY competent upholster can match and replace the leather. It's also nowhere near as expensive as you claim. I had a couple of rear seat panels replaced along with a recovered section of the dash for about £350. It is a pain in the butt to take out most of the dash but it is a DIY option, if you can be patient.

Enjoyed the video. I have a DB9 and have put 40,000 miles on it so now right at 60,000 too. Your comments on the Vantage would also apply to the DB9. I still love this car and these will be classic collector cars simply due to how beautiful they are and the old school normally aspirated sound and the hydraulic steering. They. are NOT maintenance hogs. They are very well built but when you do need parts and labor it is easily triple that of an American car. Fantastic handling and are fun to drive. Yes, when I have not been it for a while it does call you back like a teenager to go for a spin. It does not get old.

This car also has a very solid passenger cell, one of the best and safest in this segment. Saw one at the panel shops after it had been involved in a head on with a telegraph poll at a decent speed. The passenger compartment was fully intact with no depression of any kind into the wall of the compartment.

Dude why are you titling this video 60,000 miles in an Aston? You're talking about design cues, the glove box and with how the key is made by Volvo. There's like 5 minutes in this video specific to a high mileage vehicle. Title it something more relevant so we don't waste our time.

Howzit Dyllon. Awesome review. About 2 years ago I looked at buying an early model Vantage. It had 93k and came with a full service history. There were a few issues such a very worn driver's seat and then the usual paint chips and kerbed wheels. Its sale price was around $45k in SA. In the end I didn't take it.
@IfCarsCouldTalk5 жыл бұрын
Howzit! I miss SA. Plenty still out there for you. That service history is essential. Better sometimes to have a high miler with a service history rather a low miler with nothing! Cheers,

although his speech and delivery was meant to be dismissive ( or maybe humorous) of this interior of the car, it is afterall a two seater sports car, and people who buy them already know that space for storage is limited in such cars. so AFAIC most of the negatives are acceptable. OTOH the first car i owned was a '61 mga, so as long as there is no lucas electrical system, i'm pretty much satisfied with the creature comforts and reliability issues. :) BTW, driving a powerful sports car in traffic is never fun. not in any of them.

You mustn't be used to driving lots of manuals because I felt the clutch was relatively light for a high performance car. I drove one 10 years ago for a weekend. It was a 4.3 with just over 3,500 miles on the clock. It was an absolute pussycat to drive. Great ride, handled well, nice gear change and was fast without being unusable or too intimidating. Perfect for Britain's A and B Roads. I found it to be a pretty good long distance tourer as well.
